I am thinking about a basic light colored wood laminate. I am not sure whether we'd install ourselves or have it done.

Pergo product runs about $3.43 per sq. ft., your project $411.60.
Silent step ( pad underneath) .71 per sq. ft.,your project $85.20.

Labor
Install silent step .30 per sq.ft. , your project $36.00
Install pergo $1.54 per sq. ft., your project $184.80
Figure $125 of base shoe to hide the expansion gap needed for floating floors, includes labor.

Total $842.60 (I'm a contractor and I would not install for less)

Pergo is good flooring but you can do it for much cheaper with just plain laminate and get teh same effect. basically with Pergo you are paying for a brand name. We did out kitchen and hallways for about $300. If you have it installed it will be more. We did it ourselves and it was extrememly easy.

About 300.00 dollars, if you install your self and if you buy from Sam's Club.
