There are none because it makes no difference either way if you do good or evil. There is no accountability.

Good point. First let me make a point to "gorgeoust" above. If you are on the operating table are you going to say something to the surgeon like "Wait a minuet. Do you know who Gandhi was?" The Christian hospitals, are the doctors and all hospital staff not to be paid? Sure they want to show a profit. That is one reason a person has health insurance Ever go to a drug store and see what the price of prescription medication is? I'd like to add to the original question, If there are few (if any at all) Atheists schools and hospitals, where are they and do they operate for profit or not? What organizations are backed, promoted, and funded by Atheists or some sort of common Atheists endorsement? Cancer Fund? Aid to the Blind? Diabetes Association? Feed the Children? Feed the Hungry? U.S.O?, Red Cross? Do most individual Atheists or some sort of Atheist program help fund any of these programs? These programs offer aid to ALL. Not just Christan, Atheist, etc. The Church that I go to give funding to Their own Church, Christianity outreach, mission programs, pastors/employees, and several funds such as the above listed.

well, 1st to have red, is one thing, but to read is quite another thing. I know that i also too have been dogged for being morally correct, but the fact of the matter, is i think that's why there became a seperation of church and state. If you would like to talk to an atheist you may want to talk to the president, he sure seems to be not knowing what the hell is going on and i believe he is allowing americans, including myself to come to ruins, but as a child of GOD, i can only say, that in the end, whenever GOD and not man decides is all that anyone should be interested in. To take a chance for what is right, and not what is wrong, is always the best policy to live by in my book. As far as an atheist hospital goes, i would have to say St.Banard's. Gail

So does that mean that all the "top" hospitals were built by Christians and are considered "Christian" hospitals?
So does that mean that all the "top" universities were built by Christians are are considered "Christian" universities?
Bill Gates has the largest foundation in the U.S. and is an atheist. Warren Buffett is an atheist.
And it isn't "help" you want; this was just a dare. You > "I dare you to show me I'm wrong."

That's a pretty weird question. Why would anyone found a hospital, university or charity in the name of Atheism? Atheists do engage in charity (I do; my parents [atheist and secular christian, respectively] do volunteer work for the Red Cross), not to mention Bill Gates, the biggest donor out there right now. We just don't do it to promote Atheism, we do it to feed the hungry, cure the sick etc.
Which kind of begs the question. Why do Christians do charity? Do you have a different reason? (I'm asking you, not the hundreds of millions of nice Christians out there)

You phail. Prepare to be pwned.
Nobody's "bashing" charity - or at least, if they are, it's for a reason distiguishable from atheism. Nowhere in the Atheist Creed does it say "Thou shalt not commit charity." (Note: there is no Atheist Creed.) There are many, many reasons to "bash" Christianity, but that doesn't mean that some good is not occassionally done in the name of Christ. My chief objections to the religion are its oppressive attitude, its obviously false historical basis, and its hostility to progress in defense of its own antiquated structure. That doesn't mean I have any objection to charity!
As for why there aren't specifically "atheist" charities, etc, that should be pretty obvious. Atheism as such is not an organization, as Christianity is. You don't need to go to a special building to be a skeptic. There ARE plenty of charitable organizations which aren't specifically "Christian."

Charity, any charity -- religious or not -- is possible only for the donations of those who produce. The producers of the world, whether they believe in God or not, are the engine of progress. THEIR MONEY, which is the surplus of what they have produced, makes all hospitals, even all churches possible!
If everyone put in practice Jesus's moral code, everyone would have to don a pair of sandals and a tunic made with a potato sack, and simply pray for someone to feed them. Now, that's doing what one's preaching!
Without reason, there is no productivity. Without productivity, there is no progress. People who believe that wealth is a sin, should be poor, produce nothing, and return to live in caves.

What, are you saying that Christians are all good and atheists are all bad?
Christians build hospitals. And they also killed a bunch of people with the Inquisition and Witch hunts and crusades.
Atheists make up many of the doctors and scientists who run research centers and hospitals.
And as far as free thought--what about the Unitarian Universalists and Harvard?
Did you ever think that maybe atheists couldn't do as much as Christians because Christians wouldn't let them succeed? Christianity was the dominant religious force that bled over into business and schools and government (despite the edict of "separation of church and state.")
What could atheists have done if oppressive Christians hadn't held them down?
And what will atheists do now that Christianity is losing its oppressive power?

You had might as well ask to name individuals who have done this since Atheism is not a belief system and there are no large Atheist organizations (much less corrupt ones sleazing by on tax-exempt status even though they function as PACs). Nevertheless, Atheists contribute through donations to many secular organizations - preferably those that seek only to help, unlike many Christian organizations that ultimately do more harm than good.
Name any Atheist social/civic leader/gurus who have been exposed as hypocritical liars and criminals?
Name any who want to rewrite and corrupt the US Constitution like conservative Christians do?
Name any who are trying to destroy science education in our schools?
Name one who opposes allowing any child to pray in school whenever they want to?
This is just another in the endless list of ignorant and nonsensical statements by moronic Christians who must lie and slander to make a point as they have no just cause of their own to stand on.

Well, easy: go to France, or to pretty much all countries except America (well, I'm sure you'll find plenty of things not funded by Christians in America)! Everything is state founded (non-religious organisation) and funded, and there are plenty of charities that are not Christians.
Hope that helped.

Ever heard of John's Hopkins? it's probably the most prestigious hospital and medical school in the country.
When was the last time an Athiest killed someone because of religion?
(and no, I'm not an Athiest- just an educated Christian)
