This winter we're stuck on:
1.Grilled sirloin or rib eyes, baked potato, salad, steamed veggie of choice.
2.Fried or baked chicken, mashed potatoes, veggie of choice.
3.Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread; then lasagna a few nights later made from left over sauce.
4.Meat loaf, mashed potatoes, tiny peas.
5.Pot roast. Leftovers become tacos, sandwiches, stew.
6. Lots of homemade chicken noodle soup.
8.Some shrimp, fish, oysters.
7. Beer. Lots of beer.
We don't eat dessert....unless we are forced to, lol.

We get stuck in ruts too, I have really been trying to do some different things lately though and with much success. But it is so easy to come home from a long day and do what you normally would do.
Also, most nights I cook 2 meals as I don't eat much meat (barely any) and my husband doesn't eat ANYTHING i eat. So I go for cheap, healthy and easy.
Get some cook books, go to the used book store, or just get online.
Good luck.

Me, personally i tend to eat light foods... nothing to heavy on the stomach, like pizza, or spaghetti, or things you can cook easily in the microwave or oven.
But lately my mum (im only 15, so its not like im 34 and live at home and she cooks for me) has been trying the same thing you have been doing.... trying to cook me different things, and change what i eat.
Shes been trying for a healthy starter.... like some salads, and healthy meals, insead of pizzas and chips.
However i think the reason everyone eats the same thing is because we all have tastebuds, When we are growing up (ages 5 - 10) our tastebuds develop a taste that we like and dislike. Therefor when we are older, or are offered something that we are not used to, we dont accept it, as we dont know what it tastes like, and we want to keep our regular cycle of food we like and know.
Hope this helps, and god luck with your survey!! or whatever is is your doing ...

Here is a quicky and I guarantee !!
1. boil a big pot of water and put a whole pack of spaghetti for 10 minutes or less (make sure it is not over or under cooked)
2. drain off the hot water, rinse with cold water
put back the spaghetti to the same pot and turn the heat to hi.
3. put in 1 and half cup of vegetable oil (any oil except Oliver oil, avoid shortenings)
4. pour in one cup of soy sauce
(oil and soy sauce can be adjusted on your next batch)
5. under high heat, stir for 4 minutes and serve
6. it tastes great !!

My husband doesn't eat fish or eggs and I don't eat pork so we eat a lot of chicken and beef. I cook almost exclusively low-cal and low fat.
Our standbys in the winter are chili, stirfry, Mexican and Italian. I keep it varied by throwing in the occasional Indian or Moroccan dish.
In the summer, we eat a lot of grilled meats and salads.

Something with ground beef, soup, salad, garlic masheds, and homemade bread. We're fairly boring unless some recipe really hits us, and that's about twice a week.
