Grains were a staple, barley was big, and wheat also. They often had some stock largely sheep and goats so that provided milk and milk products and meat. Fish were caught in the sea of galilee, and also the mediteranean, but if one didn't live near the coast that was out. Some vegetables were grown, but I'm not real clear on what, and grapes and olives were both big. there were some cattle, but I gather only a few people had them, and for a family that would be a lot of meat, though for a feast, a bunch of people could share.

Certain animals were eaten and generally done so during the time of sacrifice to show respect for Gods laws and to support the temple arrangement.
The bible tells us of grains, fish, grapes, watermelons, figs, olives, eggs, milk, cheese, pretty much what you eat today, only it didn't come out of a carton, box, freezer nor was it microwaveable.
