You can go to Home Depot and get a replacement socket for the bathroom. If you don't feel savvy enough, call a handyman. It may take 5 minutes.

The jury-rig you may have set up now doesn't sound safe, and may start a fire.

Don't forget to turn off the circuit breaker before handling electrical outlets in the house, or you'll get hurt.

Good luck.

You can use an existing outlet as a source of power for a new outlet provided there are not too many outlets on this branch already. It should be done with romex or bx wiring, not an old extension cord. Also the new outlet must be in an appropriate box and should be ground fault protected since it is in a bathroom. You have the right idea but need to consult your local building department or at least do some research on how to adhere to the proper codes. You do not want to create a dangerous condition in your home.

All bathroom outlets should have built-in ground fault interrupters included. If you put an outlet there, be sure it is that type.
