Was there a specific reason for choosing this target to bomb? Was there an objection to girls schooling or this school or who ran this school, or what? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

actually, mr. bone collector, this group ARE islamic militants. They oppose the current iranian theocracy, but blend the ideals of marxism and islamic fundamental theology (NOT necessarily violent, or anti-women-there are so many variations) and hope to take control of Iran under a new Islamic theocracy. That is their goal, mouth.

Islam is a doctrine of hate, not love. It is a doctrine of a man, not God, and lots of loosely connected hadith (oral traditions). It's underlying scriptures are not inspired by God and its prophet was not divine.
If Islamists have the courage to read and understand their own faith, they would soon see it for what it is. A non-orthodox heresy. See resource below.

I didn't read about the case... was on vacation in FL... however generally it's an objection to girls attending school and it's often more cultural than religious. A good book (which I was suprised to find as well-written as it is... generally some books written on the topic of the Middle East aren't dealt with fairly) is "The Persian Puzzle" by Kenneth Pollack... it's a good summary of the history of Iran and the trash other countries have done to it. I've studied Iran in grave detail for years and this is the best adumbrated version of it I've found to date. I bought it in military clothing sales book rack, and I usually like to read them to see what the latest "party line" is... this one is a pleasant surprise... it's NOT the "party line", at least not all the way. It'll give more insight, if not respect, for why so many in the Middle Eastern world are upset with the secular world in general.
I studied Iran soon after the Iran hostage situation was resolved... yeah I'm that darned old (grin). You might enjoy the same studies.

there wus nuthin specific for bombin a girls school nor any good muslim has any objection ova female schooling, but is just a small group of terrorist actively involved in bombing throughout irans zahedan province since last week.According to FARS, the leader of the Jondollah group, Abdolmalek Rigy, claimed responsibility for the bombing on MKO-TV. The group also claimed responsibility for a car bomb in the same area Wednesday.
MKO stands for the Mojahedin Khalq Organization, an Iranian terrorist group stationed in Iraq.
On Wednesday, a car bomb struck an Iranian military bus in Zahedan, killing at least 11 people and wounding more than 30
I hope you wud hav got your answer and pray that people leave the idea of associating every unzippedbomb to islam or say every exploder as islamic millitants!!

These militants don't need an excuse, they do what they like. They really frighten me. I listen to people say how scared they are of Christians, but these people are the ones to fear. They make Christians look like boy scouts and girl guides. I heard a program on the radio today that they just want to kill all the "infidels", they don't care where they live, just kill us all. In the mean time we are over in North America bad mouthing our Christians who have been in this country for years and never came out with these kinds of statements, yet we are the monsters. You know the Christian Crusades were fought to end the terror of Radical Islam, they killed, tortured and conquered over 60% of Christian's land. Yet, we look like the evil ones when we finally decided enough is enough. Sorry, I got off track, I apologize, but with these people nothing makes sense. It's a crying shame the murder that they do to innocent people and little kids. The school may have been a Sunni or Shiite as each one is attacking the other. Its a mess. God help us.

I think it is a fake news.
I'm Iranian and I pretty much read every single news about Iran and this wasn't there!
AND most bombings done in Iran right now are done by the Monafeghin/Mojahedin group lead by Maryam and Masoud Rajavi.
They are a terrorist organization and they were protected by Saddam Hussein and were stationed mostly in Iraq but their group vanished after USA occupied Iraq.

Because they are known to be misogynist and crazy, perhaps???
you do know they are still stoning women to death over there for 'sexual' transgressions, right?

Because they are ****ing wack-jobs, that's why!
Was there significance... dunno. Islamic militants aren't known to be pro-female. Maybe some daring women in Tehran were showing a bit too much eye and their husbands got angry and lashed out?
