WOW!!! Those puppies are CUTE! They do look like pit bull/boxer to me too. But there is no way to tell for sure. But it will be much easier to tell when they get older. I can't believe these babies were going to be euthanized!!! GREAT Job Saving them!!!
If you can't keep them, I will take one...really!! I am looking for a puppy....

I have a spaniel/pit bull/lab mix and they look just like mine did, same jaw line and face. However, I see the pitt bull and the boxer especially in the second puppy. Mine was 2 months old and weighed 6 pounds due to malnutrician, we picked him up from a shop lot for rigs and heavy equipment there had been 5 puppies total. Sadly to say the other 4 didn't make it. Because of where we got him, we went right to the vets and had him completely checked over, he was very healthy, except malnurished. Funny thing was the new vet tech walked in the room, turned around and left without a word. Then I heard him telling the vet he wasn't going back in the room with that pitt bull, the vet said "he's only part and he's just 2 months". This is before we even knew what he was fully. We only knew the mom was a spaniel, the rest came later when we learned who the father was. The people who owned the parent dogs were the type, I found out, that claimed the dogs when you tried to take one, but the minute animal control showed up they didn't own them and the dogs were gone. We've had him now for 4 years and 2 months. He hates uniforms, mechanic ones especially and work boots. I guess the worker tried to shoo the puppies away so they wouldn't get killed, but they did, except mine. I called animal control at least 6 times on these people and described the living conditions, they did nothing. On 1/17/07 I took in a dog my one son saw get pushed from a stopped truck. He's partially blind and could'nt get the tag, but he got the dog. A month later we have had him fixed and gotten his shots. He turned out to be a Pomeranian/Papillon mix, 8 months old. We have since found out who the people were, our former next door neighbor. No, I decided not to turn him in, but chewed his a** up one side and down the other, and told him he should have known he could have come to us and asked for help. He said that's why he choose in front of our house to let him go, he knew we'd find him and take him in. He also made sure our trucks were there first. The guy was about to get evicted that night if the dog was there by 5pm. Our animal control is not an option, since they won't even help animals in abuse situations like my other dog above. In the last 12 years, my family has taken in over 30 cats, dogs, hamsters, a guinea pig, and even cared for some wild injured rabbits and 3 starlings (lost one). I have a small house with 6 people and 54 pets (2 are in the barn, 24 are caged small animals, 2 reptiles, 1 tarantula, 14 are cats, 2 are dogs, 1 wolf hybrid, 2 cockatiels, and 2 tanks of fish). As you can see I can't take in many at a time, but I still have room for caged animals and am in contact with a rescue league in the next county over and may be adopting a chinchilla, but not untill get more information on how to care for them first. We have never taken in an animal unless we can care for it properly.
Good luck with the puppies and thank you for rescueing them. I wish I had more room for more cats, but I'm at my max., litter pans are my duty.
PS our local shelter only keep the pure breeds and euthanizes all the rest no mater if they're found or handed over, cats and dogs alike. I found a chow /lab mix 5 yrs ago and turned her over, then hours later my own dog wouldn't stop whimpering, my kids said she missed the stray, they played together in the yard all the time. So I called the shelter and asked if they had a dog fitting her description and they said yes, she was slated to be euthanized that night, she was only there 4 hours. I called for a ride, I don't drive, went down and got her back. 10 months later however, she horribly attacked and nearly killed my older dog and I had to turn her back over to them by law.

They do look like a possible mix of pitbull, boxer, or maybe even bulldog.
They also look like they might be having a bit of an eye infection going on as well. Better have them to the vet for a check up.

Boxer could be key. I don't think they have a blocky enough head for a pit bull. I would have your vet check that ocular discharge looks like a lot more than you should normally see even in a brachyocephalic breed.

The face is more boxer than pit bull. Brindle boxers are pretty common. I love brindle dogs, what cool colors. Good luck adopting them out!

I think your right. Although I have seen a pure breed boxer with that same color before. They are soooo cute. Thank You for saving them. Take care of them the best you can, and they will forever be grateful.

you are right!!! but if they were only nine weeks old they couldn't have put them to sleep!!! the right age they could be away from their mother is at 8 weeks!!! so the shelter would have been braking the law!!!

I'd say your guess is right. Thank you, thank you, thank you (I can't say it enough) for saving not one life, but two! If more people had your compassion the world would be a much better place. Congrats on your new additions!
