They will have a BF/GF whenever their feelings go that way....parents can forbid children to date or hang out, but they can't control their child's feelings about another person.

My son is 13, almost 14 and I have been a little concerned that he hasnt shown any interest in finding someone yet. He should have started doing that 2 or 3 years ago if not even earlier. If he doesn't start now, it will just take that much longer later. There realy isn't an age to say not yet...but there is one to say WHY not yet.

I tried for 16 years of age. However, that did not work, my daughter would sneak around with her boyfriend. I would try and stay open on the subject unless your child is under 14. Let them have time together but make it supervised.

Ha, I had a "boyfriend" in kindergarten. If it's a boyfriend/girlfriend in innocent sense, it's totally harmless at any age. If they want a serious relationship, 16+ is good.

Well on a religious aspect

Christianity:

Catholicism-13
Mormon-16
Greek orthodox-15

Judaism:

Orthodox-Not allowed
Conservative-12 for girls and 13 for boys

Islam:Not allowed

But on a moral aspect it should be when the child is mature enough.

They have them at whatever age they want, really. Parents just might not know about it. I don't let them date until they're 16 tho.
