It really depends on where you work. If you're older and trying a to build a career at a certain workplace, its generally not a good idea. If you're both 16 working at a fast food joint, thats a little different. Check your workplace's policies before pursuing anything. In all honesy, the workplace is probably one of the best places to meet someone. You get a much more honest view of the person and their behavior then you would if you just met them on the street and asked for a date. If both people are on the same wavelength regarding where the relationship is going, then it may be worth it. I think I remember reading somewhere that the third most common place people met their spouse was at work.

According to research those are the steamiest and most romantic ones. If you can meet your other half that way you're lucky for life. More and more people get hooled up at the work place. They get to see each other all day, they get to deal with the same kind of things, they're share more of their life and they can stay after hours and talk. They also see each other's best face, since you don't come to work looking like crap. Plus... you really get to know a person really good when you work with them. So I'd say thumbs up!

It's not good... my ex-boyfriend and I use to work at the same place, It was very difficult to work together sometimes. It was also hard b/c I was a manager so I was his boss, what is worse is if (which we did) break up, it's very weird to have to see that person all the time while trying to get on with life after a break up, my advice..... usually it's not good to mix business with pleasure.

It doesn't work 99.9% of the time --- believe me, I tried it -- he was a high government official in southern california that my company processed applications through ------ we managed to keep it secret from those that mattered (it was a felony for him to see me personally and not disclose it) for over 2 yrs. but in the end I realized outside business we didn't have that much in common - he was still head over heels so it made it very very difficult. I ended up closing my very profitable, thriving business.
Of course, it all depends on the type of business and working proximity - if you see each other on a daily business -- one is a supervisor, etc. But generally it's not a good idea

well, depending on the institution, and its policies ...well, it can vary ...but, I personally discourage that, it only brings trouble in the workplace ..if you want to date a coworker, it has to be extremely secret ...and you must sit your colleague to tell him that you want that relationship to be separate from your profesional life ...!! if both of you are not ready for that, then don't get into it ..!!
Good Luck !!

I know it happens.People spend a lot of time together and things can spark.Problem is if you break up then it can be difficult and one may have to leave.I would say if it was your boss or if one or both of you are married then a definite no no.

It won't work if someone you are dating is in charge of you at work.
If you have a relationship in sales, or anything competative... it won't work either.
