I believed that the girl who sat in front of me in English class was the most beautiful creature in the world.
Also, I felt that the world was bigger than I could imagine.

I suppose you could say I was a Christian. MY understanding back then was this...God is all-powerful. Nothing can happen that is against Gods will. Therefore if something is against God's will it cannot happen. That understanding allowed me to steal, lie, cheat, kill and do a great many things that would be considered immoral simply because I was so convinced that since is was impossible for a person to violate God's will what ever I did, no matter how vile, disopicable and heinous was okay becasue it was impossible to violate God's will and therefore these things must have been God's will. That's what happens when a 10 year old has religion, an iq of 198, and no one to talk to.

I believed in God the Father and Christ the son of God. That would make me Christian, even though my family were not exactly practicing their beliefs. The Holy Bible was an unread book tucked away in a closet.
I will always remember at about that age I was looking into the clear night sky and I began to wonder about God and what life's meaning was. I was not a very happy child.
It was not until much later that I looked into the scriptures to find answers.

At age 10, you are still at least two years from the stage where you BEGIN to develop conceptual thought process. So, what you claim to believe is merely a reflection of what you have been taught, not just about religion, but about everything. And no, if you think your child is smarter than that, not even Christ developed to that point until age 12. Recent studies show that persons who develop later (not slower) than others, have the longest life spans.
From age 2 to puberty, you are primarily a data sponge.

Yes, even a little child of seven or even four or five has the capacity to understand the concepts of disobedience, punishment, love and forgiveness. They can make up their own minds. I have known young children to believe in Biblical fundamental Christianity even when their parents did not.
I believed in Biblical fundamental Christianity before I was 10, when I was 10 and now that I am a middle aged adult.

I was raised in a Pentecostal, Assembly of God Church. My beliefs were that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. That He raised from the dead. That He was born in a Manger, born of a virgin.
During praise service I sang songs for Jesus to come into my heart. I was filled with the Holy Spirit at a bible 1 week church camp.
But sad to say, I didn't realize who I was in Christ, or what my sins were that Jesus needed to die for me for.
Since I fell away when I married & moved, 10 yrs later had a 1 yr breakdown. Then someone brought me to a church where God healed me & I recommitted to God. Was filled with the Holy Spirit so powerfully that my hands went straight up to praise Him. This is River of Life Fellowship in Kent WA. I still go there today. It is non denominational. But the Pastor believes the Holy Bible is the Word of God. And that we should follow after the Holy Spirit in our lives. My Pastor believes the whole Bible is for today.

When I was 10, I was special and saved. Most of my friends and grandparents were headed for hell. The end of the world would happen in my lifetime. We might have nuclear war. Communists wanted to take over the world and turn us all into godless atheists and rat out our moms and dads. I believed that there was a ghost on a canal near my house that wanted to drown me.

I grew up in the south. I remember seeing the atrocities in Alabama over race. I knew that was wrong and it puzzled me that it was allowed to go on for so long.
I knew that our souls live many lives. I cannot remember not believing that. I believed that Jesus was a good man.
The story of Noah just never made sense to me. Come on! How much rain would it take to cover Mt. Everest?

I was a Mormon because my family was Mormon, and I was born into the religion. When I became older and had more life experience, I realized that Mormonism was not true and that it is based on fraudulism. I decided to believe Jesus, who said that he would not return again until ALL human-kind sees him coming in the clouds of glory. So, I now know that Joseph Smith had to be lying or Jesus had to be. I made a choice.

When you are a 10 year old child you do not have the capacity to choose your beliefs. You do what your parents tell you to do.
