Lets see, if you are *really* willing to try just about anything to make you hair grow 16 inches longer in a year you can always try this: http://www.wildgrowth.com
Good luck! :)

It is physically impossible for you to grow your own hair 15" to 16" in 14 months. Hair grows one half inch a month, 6" a year. Period. It does slow down a bit in February and speed up a bit in August, but it takes scientific equipment to measure the difference (and anyone who tells you differently is either lying or has themselves fooled.)

Vitamins will help the strength of your hair at any length making it look better (healthier.) But will only appear to grow longer if your hair is in such bad condition that it is breaking off at nearly the same rate it is growing. I have known only 2 people who this is true of, and as I worked with one of them, we were able to realize(see) the growth of her hair by stopping the damage that was breaking it off.
Now, what may be the best solution for you is to get hair extentions, fairly close to the time you want to have the length of your hair appear longer than it has grown. By the way, hair extentions do not have to just be braided, they can be left down and straight.

There are two things you want to do to find the right person to do your extentions. Ask people in your area who they like for extentions. Then go to the salon and watch them work for a while. If they use super-glue to hold the extentions to the hair -run like the dickens. They don't know what they are doing!!!!
You will have found the right place when you see them doing a true WEAVE. If you can't get in the salon when they are doing one, ask salons what method the use to do the extentions. They may suggest you have a little weave done before you need it, that's a good idea because you can see how to care for it on your own. Start your search in the phone book and begin looking right away. You may not have a salon who does this in your town, so you may have to look outside your area.

Hair grows at a rate of a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch a month some peoples hair grows faster then others . I grew my hair past my butt and it took me over two years and I started with my hair at my shoulders . Do the math and see how long it should take . One way is to measure how fast your nails grow because your hair grows at about the same rate. But you can't speed the growing process up .

Mainly, eat right, take vitamins, and no blow drying or coloring of your hair.

People are referring you to websites because this is something that cannot be properly answered in such a short answer forum.

The Long Hair Community is a good website for finding what you need to know. Even if you can post due to only having a yahoo address, you will be able to search their boards for what you need.

Make sure you wash it and brush it alot. Drink lots of orange juice and keep it trimmed. Trimming makes it grow faster and prettier.

Why do you want hair that long? Hopefully to cut and donate to the patients with cancer. If not, YUCK!!!!! Hair that long is OUT!!! This is not the 70's hippy child. It only makes you look unkept, irresponsible, and lacking style. Cut that hair, please.
