People do not consider small bugs as valuable I guess. Some of them are a pest, especially in big numbers, but most are harmless, even bees or the odd wasp when treated with respect.
What strikes me is that at work, when a bee accidentally gets inro the office, everyone is up for the kill, especially the vegeterians in the office! What is wrong with THAT picture?
If you treat a bug with the respect it deserves it's usually harmless-it's people's lack of knowledge that lets them fear the unknown....
You are not gross, you just show that you have respect!

you incredibly get a super sort of mileage out of a malicious program. i take excitement on your massive heart. i think your pals have been only attempting to be cool. Cool is hyped up, you maintain being compassionate. i'm assuming you guard species different then bugs to boot, yet that's in all probability a secure assumption.

I don't think that you are gross. It shows you have compassion for life and that is not a bad characteristic to have. Good job. Wish there were kinder people in the world maybe things would be a lot better.

What kind of bug was it? Some bugs need to die. Mosquitos and cockroaches come to mind right away.

You say it was half-dead...why not let her put it out of it's slow suffering misery?

If it would've been fully alive - then I can see why you would want to let it live. And that would've been doing the right thing, unless it was a cockroach or mosquito.

Nobody has the right to take the life of another living creature without good reason. We hunt for survival. We shouldn't kill for the sake of killing. All life is worth appreciating and respecting.

That's great!!! Most people don't even think of the little things these days anymore, and I think it's wonderful that you saved that poor insect. That shows that you have empathy and compassion -- don't worry about what those people said. :D

They're being trained by so-called "reality TV" and video games to react reflexively and cruelly. Most of what you see on reality TV is backstabbing behavior.

Perhaps the life of even the smallest creature doesn't mean as much to them as it does to you. Still, you did right, and I applaud your efforts.
