There's loads of lovely places you could stay.
Hawes
Haworth
Skipton
Grassington
Ilkley
Otley
York

I'm originally from Yorkshire so I'll have a think and add some more later!

You should visit:
Harry Ramsden's (Guisley)
Betty's Tea Rooms

Coastal:
Bridlington
Whitbey
Filey

If you're interested in the Emmerdale thing;
We used to live about 15 minutes walk from where it's actually filmed.
The set is a purpose built village on the Harewood Estate.
We used to live in a tiny village called Eccup which is right next door to the estate. You can't actually go onto the set but you can get close enough to see the village. And there are wild Red Kites in the area too so it's a very nice place to spend a couple of hours. If you do visit the area you should call in to The New Inn on Eccup Road. It's a cosy little country pub with open fires and very friendly.

All this is really making me miss yorkshire.
I hope you have a lovely time wherever you decide to go!

They film Emmerdale around Leeds/Harrogate sort of area. If you're after a picturesque Yorkshire, then I'd say visit Harrogate, and take in the usual touristy sights aruond there. Also, places close by in North Yorkshire are, Boroughbridge, Ripley, Knaresborough. These places are surrounded by countryside, and quaint little counrty pubs.

If you want somewhere which looks identical to "Hotton", the fictional place where Ememrdale is set, then Follifoot, N Yorks (6 miles from Harrogate) is you're best bet. The similarities are eerily vast, but still a lovely little part of rural Yorkshire.

The New Inn at Cropton (near Pickering) is really good. Great walking in Rosedale and Cropton Forest as well as further afield on the North Yorks Moors.

Nearby there, Whitby is pretty good too.

If you want somewhere a bit more remote, try staying in Penistone in South Yorkshire. An old market town, nothing amazing, but with quite a few good pubs and easy access to the Dark Peak for walking.

Finally, Grassington in Wharfdale is about as good as it gets! Great little town, brilliant walking in Wharfedale when the weather is nice.

Hello,
If you based yourself in keighley, you would be in a very nice part of Yorkshire, with so much to see and do, to easily fill out what ever amount of time you would like to be there, you can ride the old Steam Railway, along the same route used to film ' The Railway Children', and visit the places frequented by the Bronte Sisters, you could walk the lanes through some really beautiful Villages, and sample some really tasty Yorkshire cuisine, and the Beers available are countless, and each can be different from another. Try a BIG Yorkshire Pudding filled with Beef stew and dumplings, you may not need to eat again for a few days, and accompany that with a couple of pints of John Smiths Tadcaster Ale, now, you are 'Yorkshireised', Take in a Rugby League game, the new season is just about to start, and there is always room for another spectator, and the games are rough enough to give you the impression you are at a collesium watching the slaughter that took place there, all under the control of a bespectacled Referee, who thinks he is ruling this game like an ancient Roman Caesar, and his two overweight Senators running up and down the field waving their little flags at the 'Caesar'. to get his attention that some of the gladiatorial characters in the arena are who,not playing nice, and need to be taken to the Sin-Bin, to be flogged and not allowed to enter the arena for ten minutes, until their hurt feelings, have been healed. Then when that game is over, you could relax in a working mens club for the evening, and laugh and dance the night away, before you try some delicious Fish and Chips all beautifully fried, in some good old Yorkshire Beef Dripping, put a spray of salt and a squirt of vinegar on them, and wait, until you start burping! at 3 am. fabulous, but you won't sleep, which will surely give you enough time to reflect on what you did before you meant to go to bed....here ends day one1.......
SO, on now to tomorrow, well you can move from Keighley to an even livelier place, closer to Leeds, and on your way, divert yourself a bit, and visit Harrogate, and call at the Yorkshire Tea blenders, and have a nice cup'o'tea lad, and don't forget the Tea loaf, that is an excellent accompaniment to the Tea, it is a great place for Breakfast too. unless you would like to detour slightly to York and have all that Yorkshire Tea breakfast at Auntie Bettys, Jeepers what a feed, and they will make you up a lunch pack to take with you, to enjoy on the train or the bus to Leeds, the City Centre of Leeds will drive you crazy with delight, so much to see and do there, and you never know, because now it is mid- afternoon, you could easily get into the Leeds United football ground and have yourself a really quiet 90 minutes of football, before you make your mind up about what you are going to do for the evenings entertainment, well stay in Leeds and get the local evening Newspaper, and find the entertainmants page, and take your pick, you could do anything from a movie to going to a live comedy show, they have a wonderful sense of humour in Leeds, there are actually people there who would tell you jokes, to make a drain laugh out loud, and when you have enjoyed all that, try Fish and Chips again, fried in Beef Dripping, and Eat them at you walk back to the hotel you are booked into, Don't forget the name of the hotel, and try this time to really get some sleep.
At the end of your Yorkshire tour, you can seriously consider booking into a Clinic or Health farm, to help you get rid of all the happiness and joy you have enjoyed, if only to get your weight back to your usual lithe self again.
As a sweet alternative to all this merriment, you could walk some lovely roads in North Yorkshire, and a good starting place for this is through the James Herriot country, and walk yourself from Thirsk all the way to Scarborough, via the Sutton Bank route, and that is a real upward climb for any fit person, but at the top, there is a nice resting place for your picnic, where you can look back at where you have just walked from, and on a clear day, look westwards over most of everywhere, I have told you about in this reply to your query, but please do take it easy, no good going home from Yorkshire, because you need a break from taking a break. please enjoy every moment, and you will, one day want to return and just maybe do it all over, Oh, BY THE WAY, I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THE FISH AND CHIPS, with a little salt and vinegar, they are an absolute delight.. I hope you have a wonderful time, Bye..............Tony M

Haworth is lovely, its where the Bronte's lived.
The house is there as is the old church where their father was the vicar.
Howarth is where they filmed the hovis adverts with the cobbled streets.
Its very historical and walking on the moors covered in heather is wonderful.
