There is a drug norethisterone - can't think of brand name - which will delay your period - ask your GP or Doc.

I don't know what the name of this pill is, but I know I once had to take such a pill to postpone my own period for a few days. Afterwards, when the period returned, I got such terrible cramps that I was in bed for several hours during the day, clutching my stomach. (this is unusual because I normally don't get such unbearable cramps during period). So I wouldn't recommend it unless you have no other go. But who knows, maybe the birth control pills as some others have been suggesting may help.
When I first tried using tampons I was scared to use them, but its really not that bad. Just buy a package (try Equaline) and follow the instructions that come with it. It doesn't hurt either, not at all, it just might feel a little weird at first but you'll get used to it.
Another option is: instead of a bikini, you can try wearing a wetsuit. That way, maybe you can just wear a pad instead of a tampon?

if it's more than a month away from you trip you can take birth control pills to stop your period for a planned event...i know, because I've done it, but you need to do it CORRECTLY!!! the day you start your period, start taking the pills, then when you get to the "white" pills that you would take the week of your period throw them out and start a whole new pack of pills and continue taking them like that....it is very unlikely that you will have your period and if you do it will be very light and maybe last a day. I did this for almost a year, and plan to start doing it again come spring/summer time.
Hope this helps and good luck!!

If you're going to be at the beach, wear the tampon, but once you are in the water, the period will stop for a bit. Like everyone else has mentioned the BC but like they said you have to be on it already to be able to do that. But just wear the tampon, and enjoy it as much as you can. It sucks I know, been there, but gotta take the bad with the good. Just try to keep your feet in water so you dont have a heavy flow. I know it goes away after you are in the water.
Good luck and have fun!

I have heard of this as an ad on television. There is a pill available that lets you have your period 3 or 4 times a year. And the other ad I saw was once you are sure you don't want anymore children, there is an operation you can have and it will stop your period. Talk to your doctor about this because I don't know what they have available where you live.

The birth control pill or patch can both be used to control the timing of your periods. If you are on the patch and want to skip a period, instead of taking off the patch for a week to menstruate, just act like it is a regular week and put on a patch. If you are on the pill, just skip the colored pills that are associated with your period (they're only made of sugar anyway) and start the new pack of pills. Done... No period.

Not unless you are taking birth control pills - then you don't take that last "inactive" week - you start a new pack right away. I also suggest you start using tampons - it's weird the first time, but once you use them, you'll never go back to pads.
Have a great holiday!!!

if you take the pill and are on a 28 day cycle, after you finish the active pills, throw out the inactive ones (when you are supposed to get your period) and start a new pack. Should keep you from getting your period, but you might still have spotting.

Nothing you can do but wear a tampon. Birth control pills would do it, but you have to be on them for a few months to be able to change your period. Sorry. Nothing else you can take or do.

No, only if you are on birth control pills then you could skip the placebo pills (the week you're on your period) and go straight to the active pills. Sorry.
