can society finch and zebra finch mate?

the answer is yes.. i had both in cages together, they did pair up.. the babies were cute...at this time that is what i now have one of each...they are best buds...

All finches can cross breed, they are the same genus. But given that their own variety are present they will prefer to mate with their own.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I think they might be able to, not too sure on this though. I would check out a stronger resource. Google it!
