Would you encourage your parent/s to use the internet?

I think you should if you haven't tried. I bought a new PC a couple of years a go and I asked my mother if she would like it so she could use the internet.

Having never used a computer before or very little she said "What would I want a computer for? Anyway she agreed and hooked up to the internet. Now she absolutely loves it.

So if a parent hasn't tried it then try and persuade them as they may be missing out on a lot of pleasure, entertainment and friends.

Not to mention buying you cheap gifts online at Christmas! Lol.

My son got me hook on the computer over two years ago and I love it ,Of course it helps that he works in the computer field. He sometimes says ,when I ask him for help that he isn't sure if It was a good ideal or not. There is so much to learn everyday and I love chatting with my family and friends. I'm over sixty so come on young one get with the future.

I have tried to get mine interested in it but it costs money to have Internet and they are NOT willing to spend that $$.

They visit and love using mine but will never get it for themselves. If i foot the whole bill then they will but I am NOT
willing to do that just yet. I spend enough on them already.

Yes. My mom is old fashioned so getting her to use the internet was hard but she managed to use it. Right now, she's just using email to communicate with relatives from other countries.

my dad does, and i'm trying to keep my mom away. we don't buy anything online, and if she needs something, she just asks my cousin to do something. Plus I have a lot of emails i don't want her to go through a long with the fact i never log off.

Well both my parents do use it. But even if they didn't i would encourge them because its good to know about everything for jobs and everything.

i wish my parents would use a computer but they're afraid of technology.
