How to Remove Crazy Glue
By Brenda H. Murphy

Keywords:

When the new super bonding glues first came out, they were hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. Until someone got their hand stuck to the breadbox. Super Glue is indeed great stuff, and certainly can create a secure bond. But when that bond is between your fingers and something else, or the glue is a puddle on your kitchen counter, a wet paper towel isn't going to get you very far, because it will be stuck to it, too.

If you're going to have a tube of Crazy Glue in the house, the smartest thing you can ever do is to buy the solvent at the same time. It's just the nature of Man, that sooner or later someone will have even a small accident that is only a drip or spot, but which could turn into a major problem if they can't get it cleaned up. If you don't have the solvent, or don't know where to find it, here are a few tips you can try. Many emergency hotlines will recommend using vegetable oil for skin-to-skin bonding of fingers.

This has mixed success. Because the active ingredient in Crazy Glue and other super bonders is cyanoacrylics, what you really need is 100% acetone. While some fingernail polish does contain this, it's not usually in the strength needed to break the bond. However, for something like a spill or drops on a surface like a countertop, if you pour the nail polish on and let it sit for 15-30 minutes, it may do the trick. Otherwise, you should try a hardware store for the acetone. Some users report successful removal with lighter fluid. Keep in mind though, that anything of a chemical nature can damage the item with the glue on it. Test a hidden or small area of material or surfaces with the glue on it, and wash hands immediately after having it removed from your skin.

That can be removed with Acetone

Acetone is often found in household nail polish remover.Apply a small amount on the end of a Q-tip or cotton swab applied directly to the glue should dissolve the bond without damaging the skin.

Try not to swallow it, lol

thats a daft thing to do lol.. Best thing you can do is call your doctor or local hospital for advice or if you cant talk very well with it stuck to your mouth ask your friend to do it because you could really damage your lips if you don't get it off the right way.. I hope you get it off without too much pain but i don't think you will be doing this again in a hurry.
Try calling nhs direct on 08454647 they may be able to give you some advise.

You could try some "Vaseline" before you try nail polish remover.Use a q-tip and apply it around the area,it will keep the remover from blistering your lip, give it a few minutes to work, whatever you do don't pull on the lip. If that's fails get your silly self to the ER,and let them do it. Take care. SW RNP

Heavy-duty nail polish remover. DON'T swallow it!

Get the "salon formula" kind, the stuff with acetone in it. It should take it right off.

And don't breathe in the fumes, either.

Rinse well!

Try and use vaseline on your lips til it softens a bit. It will eventually peel off. Think twice next time with stunts like that.

Try nail polish remover. But if you have any cuts it's going to hurt like a son of a B**CH!

Hahahahahahah! Ahem, um.... some sort of glue solvent would probably do the trick, just make sure it's non toxic.
