I was thinking about doing a candy table for my wedding favors...I would have some sort of bags or boxes at it for the guests to put candy in to take home with them. I am debating between a blue color scheme and deep reds and gold color scheme. So what type of candy that can be purchased in bulk come in either blues or reds...preferably blue though

I am also doing a candy buffet for my wedding. I would go with some bulk, unwrapped candies, and some wrapped candies. If I could make a suggestion, don't go with this M&M idea everyone keeps saying. It is ridiculously priced out and you only get a small bag for your money. You really don't even need a color scheme but it always looks pretty good if you did. I would get some silver and gold wrapped candies or just go crazy with some bright blue taffy or pixie stix. Here is a picture of a candy buffet that I thought looked really cool with all the fun colors: http://www.sarahpapesh.com/knot/candy_buffet/Classy1.jpg
They went with orange and pink, but it turned out really cool.

Make sure to decorate your table too so it doesn't seem so bare. Get at least one big floral decoration and put signs out that describe what the table is or why you chose some of the certain candy. For instance, make the candy represent something.

Almond Joy bites or drops. Not sure what they're called. Blue M&Ms Starburst, the tropical flavors have blue Gummy nearness/worms Blue sour straws Try going to a candy wholesale store and just seeing what they have that's blue. We have a store called B.A.Sweeties that is a huge candy store. Maybe you have something similar by you? I'd hit the candy aisles and see what's blue. When is your wedding? If its summer or spring you could always get Easter candy and pick out all the blue ones. Like the pastels. Good luck!

hi there is a company in the uk called confetti and the do some really nice almonds and dragrees in loads of different colours, i am quite sure they deliver overseas, you could give them a try.
i am buying mine from the and mine are gold and burgundy.

alternativley have you considered a chocolate fountain. you could do platters of fruit, marshmallow and various other candys, this is becoming more and more popular nowadays.

the trouble with favours is that hardly anyone actually takes them home anyway, so you don't really want to spend a lot of money on it.

how about buying little voile bags in the colours of your choice and filling them with mint imperials / almonds or maybe your favorite sweet. and having them put on the table with your guest book - if you are having one. we are doing this . we are putting our guest cards - for them to write a note to the bride and groom - next to our favours which we are putting on our spare cake stand, it is 3 tiers high so we have different colour bags for each level. it is going to look really nice. and the guests can still help themselves.
hope this helps.

This is such a great idea! I've seen it in a few magazines and on the web and am thinking of doing the same thing! I came across this web site: www.groovycandies.com you can search by color, flavor, even occasion plus more! It's fantastic. they have your blue, red and gold and pretty much any color of the rainbow.

Groovy Candies has a great feature that sorts their candy by color - http://www.groovycandies.com/V2CatTopLevel1.asp?cat_id=46

Otherwise, here are some ideas:

Blues: Jordan almonds, M&M's, salt-water taffy, jelly beans, gummi blueberries, rock candy

Reds: Jordan almonds, M&M's, taffy, jelly beans, gummi raspberries, red hots, Boston baked beans, French burnt peanuts, Swedish fish

Candy Favorites (http://www.candyfavorites.com/shop/shopdisplaycategories.asp) sells a lot of bulk candy

Great idea, my niece did this at her wedding and everyone loved it. Check out M and M's, you can order them with your colors and with special says on them. Don't try to stay in a color scheme, just put out your favorites. Red hots, sour cherry balls, lemon heads etc. always go over well
