Sciatica is pain that follows the sciatic nerve. It goes through the buttocks, down the BACK of the leg, often as far as the knees. Frequently sciatica is made worse by straining at toilet, coughing, bending forward, extending legs while sitting. Go see a medical person, and stay away from CHIROPRACTORS until disc diseas is ruled out.

You really should seek medical advice about this and have x-rays taken of your spine and low back and legs. Just to rule out all the other possibilities. I have suffered with chronic sciatica since my horrible falling accident back in 1987. The pain can be rather intense and sitting or standing even lying down for long periods can irritate it. Have a qualified doctor look at you and hopefully diagnose and treat you.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like sciatica...You should go to the doctor. I suffered for one year before I went to the doctor. When I did he gave me 20 pain pills and told me every morning take 1 pill the go walk for 20 -30 minutes everyday. I did as instructed and on the 18th day I woke up and didn't realize I was standing in the shower pain free. go to your doctor if you can...M

Sciatica is in the back of your leg from butt down. If it's in front it is just nerve pain and it can be very painful. It is caused by a pinched nerve.
Have they given you LYRICA? If not ask your doctor about it.

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it.

I have it. It goes from the middle of my butt/hip area down the back of my leg all the way down to my toes. It follows sort of the exact middle of my leg. Excruciating.
