These are "sebaceous cysts', and once they get infected they can cause pain. Sometimes on growing further, they may burst, releasing purulent- cheesy material. Seek a consult with your doctor and probably you shall be prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic for this problem. However, you must ensure that you do not wear tight undergarments and the type you choose to wear must allow some air circulation, otherwise you shall continue getting this problem. Keep your hair of the area clipped short and avoid scatching. Good luck.

Does it eventually grow purple, then burst and ooze pus? If so, it's a boil. I have a chronic problem with them in that area as well others. "Boil ease" (a topical ointment) will help ease the pain until it bursts. Do NOT squeeze them. Wash the area with something called Hibiclens (small green bottle filled with red liquid), it's antimicrobial. Eating right and taking a multivitamin seems to help quite a lot in helping to control them.

If it's below the skin, the other man is correct--it's a subbacious cyst, in which case you need to see your doctor about having it removed. I get those in my armpits, caused by blocked oil glands, in which the growing hair (from shaving) gets caught up in it and it causes a cyst. I've had to have two removed. Don't wait. I did, thinking it was just a boil and that it would go away on its own, and it became a huge problem... because a pus-filled thing beneath the skin.

Are they about pea sized and between your labia minora and labia majora? Because if it is it could be a bartholin's gland cyst. Here is a link you could look at.

Either way just go to your Gyno. If you arent sexually active then it probably isn't anything serious.
