America is a religion now?

.

America is based on dualistic philosophy... it's so ingrained within the Western mind, because it's so much a part of everything we do now and we don't even realize it. When you have a religion that taught that ONLY one way is best and is best for all and anybody else is evil, governed how science formed in it's earliest stages, told people how to think keeping the only book of the time chained OUT of the hands of people so they didn't think for themselves... and this mentality evolved as is for centuries, you can't expect much. If you look deeply, this mentality is Western philosophy. Western science, philosophical approaches to the humanities and so on all evolved via this mentality and it's so much a part of the Western mind that you don't even really realize it until someone points it out.

I have the benefit of understanding this more deeply by having an education in both Western and Eastern philosophical approaches to thinking. When you combine dualistic thinking with natural human arrogance... it doesn't matter what part of the world you come from, what religion you practice it comes up "intolerance".

May all beings find freedom from suffering and the causes of suffering and find happiness and the cause of happiness.

Considering I recently found out people have started a "religion" based off of Lucas films Star Wars. That is right folks. There are people out there who claim Jedi-ism as a religion and are petitioning for it to be legalized.
Scientology is also considered a religion now as well. Wicca is making a come back too. So if you ask me America is too tolerant of other religions.

America is tolerant of all religions. Our government must allow free exercise of religion here. People an worship as they please. Within a couple of miles of me there are churches of every Christian denomination, there are synagogues, mosques and temples. People follow pagan religions and even worship satan. Where is the alleged intolerance? It's certainly not happening around here.
