Hey there, I work in a pathology lab and we receive breast masses in our lab all the time, several a day in fact. Breast cancer can be extremely curable if caught early and also, many breast lumps are not even cancer, they are fibromas. My father who is only 59 has also been diagnosed with end stage prostate cancer he was only given 8 months to live.... he is choosing not to treat it at all but the change his diet and let God to all the work, it is scary when your faith is tested like that. I will pray for your Mom.

Many women recover from things like this - my sister has also had some lumps in her breasts removed, and none of them were cancerous.

Right now, you have my prayers for your comfort and peace, and my advice to not assume it's cancer unless that's what a doctor (or two) say.

Father, In Jesus' Name I pray for this sister in Christ and for her dear mother who is stricken with illness and fear. Father I ask that you bless them in their time of need and ease their fears and worries with a healing from your mighty hand. Lord, I believe that you can do anything, for everything was and is created by your hand. I am believing in you for a miracle for Sister Mary, that when she goes for surgery, you will be there as always. When she comes out of surgery, you will be there also for her comfort. Oh Lord God Almighty, I thank You in advance for the blessings that Mary shall recieve upon her and her family, may your peace and healing abide! Amen!

I'm sure it's of very little comfort, but from a Buddhist perspective it's not serving much to any of you health-wise, nor mentally to be in a panic over something that may or may not be a malignancy. Perhaps working on cultivating a mind that is positive might help surge more beneficial chemicals in all of your bodies and help her beat it... not all cancer is an instant "death sentence" and not all tumors are malignant.

In any circumstance I wish you happiness and freedom from suffering. I'll dedicate merit and pray for all of you for peace of mind and health.

I'm so sorry. My grandmother is suffering with two types of cancers at the moment and it's he scariest experiance ever...for everyone. She's currently going through chemo & radiation.

All you can do is be there for your mother and have faith. God works in mysterious ways.

You didn't mention your age, this illness is hereditary and you should visit with your doctor concerning your risk for breast cancer. May His blessings of comfort and guidance be with you and your family during this difficult time and always.

If you TRULY believe in God, then take her out of the hospital and rely on prayer alone. Otherwise, it will be science, medicine, and the skills of real-life human beings that save your mother, not God.

Prayer does not work. Your mother would do better to keep a good attitude and visualize her body healing itself.

If your mother survives, and I believe she will because medical science is very good, you will no doubt give full credit to God. If she dies, then you'll say that her death was part of God's plan.

Either way, her fate is in the hands of science now.

If you entrust her to the allopathic school, do not expect good results. As Dr Mendelssohn said, malpractice is the only kind we have. If I had cancer I would go beyond the long arm of the AMA and FDA to a place where the treated cancer intelligently. (or check -herbdoc -- Richard Schulze)
