How can I get my travel forum more active?

I have started a travel forum to share travel advice, deals, reviews from world travelers. I am not sure how can I get it more active. How can I get members to discuss their travel related stuff on my form?

Just ask a lot of great questions, and email a lot of your friends to interject questions and answers.

Write a lot and ask a lot of interesting questions when someone submits something.

It takes a long time to get a forum rolling, don't get discouraged.
