I am getting married in September of 2007 and I am trying to decide on my color scheme. I love color, just about all colors. I am not having a traditional wedding at all so i have the ability to go a little out of the box. I already decided to have each girl pick their own style dress. Originally i was going to a brown and pumpkin color scheme but the reception hall is white with a big black glass dome in the middle of the cieling and black glass dance floor. Around the inside of the dome thier is a little white tule and lights. It is goregous and don't want my colors to take away from the dramatic effect so i don't want brown and black or orange and black. So I think it has been narrowed to possible pink with the bridesmiads wearing black dresses with pink bouquets or my other idea is wine dresses with cream bouquets, not sure what colors i would do the centerpieces. Any opinions?

Burgandy will look really nice with the black/white atmosphere.

I think pink OR wine would be really pretty. We picked out the bridesmaid dressed for my December wedding at Davids, they have 2 different red colors, apple or wine, and have quite a few choices. Their pink color is more magenta, its not really hot pink and I didnt like it. I'm using wine, which is gorgeous, and would look really good with what your reception hall sounds like. Its very classy. But hot pink would be pretty too. The good thing about David's is, even though they are a little disorganized and scattered, they have a wide selection of styles and sizes so that you can let your maids pick their own dress, or separate top and skirts, which is really nice too when you have girls with different body types. Good luck!

The pink would look good, but personally, I'd go with the wine, since your wedding is in the fall. I'd go with white, not cream, bouquets, though - although with flowers, there's really not that big of a difference. :o) You could also do white bouquets with green accents - it's a more modern color scheme, and it would still look good with the drama of the black and white.

Bless you for allowing the bridesmaids to choose their own style of dress !! I don't know why more brides don't honor their attendants' different body styles. Have you thought about silver dresses with pink bouquets. That would blend nicely with the black and white accommodations. Wine with cream is always classy for a fall wedding.

Wine is pretty...but it's really hard to find good shoes that match wine. Plus, if you like color, I think cream bouquets are a little too plain. I prefer the black in this situation, and I usually don't like black bridesmaids dresses. Or maybe red?

Hello. I am getting married in May and I also had my bridesmaids pick out their own styles of dresses. They were very grateful and happy about that. Anyway...on to your question...I picked two shades of blue. I got them from David's Bridal and the colors are "Pool" and "Oasis" It is very pretty together! For the bouquets, they are having light and dark peach roses with white carnations. It is going to be lovely and I have never been to a wedding where I have seen it before. If you want, check out Davidsbridal.com and check out the crazy number of colors they have to choose from.

Good luck and congrats!!!

Personally, I don't like black dresses at weddings because they seem too somber to me (though my Mom thinks they look classy). But of course, it's up to you. As for the centerpieces, I had white ones at my wedding- big white silk flowers surrounding glass dishes with floating candles. I loved it- but colored centerpieces are fun too. I think pink or red or violet or blue or green would centerpieces would be nice with the room you described. My best advice, though, is to look at lots of sample materials (in the room, if possible) to see what YOU really like the best. It is much easier to know what you like if you experiment. Have fun and congratulations!

Emerald green dresses would be beautiful with light pink/green bouquets. Centerpiece is hard to say, but I might go with the light pink/green color.

In my cousin's wedding the girl's wore a stunning gun metal gray. The bouquets were filled with fall flowers and, therefore, fall colors. That gun metal would be great for a black and white room.

don't do black it's a wedding not a funeral. I would go with pick dresses though light pink not hot pink. If you want the bridesmaids can even pick what color they want the dress. Good luck and congradulations
