I met my close (former) friend last night at a mates party.(I needed time out to get over my feelings for her)She said the friendship was lost(via txt on Monday) and we both felt awkward at the beginning-I couldn't even say a word!I ended up speaking to her for most of the evening-she couldn't believe I was being so normal-especially after what she txt me(friendship lost-move on)

I apologised for hurting her i.e. wanting no contact - she snaped bck saying YOU NEVER HURT ME! GOOD/BAD RESPONSE??

I asked her if she'll join us on our group roadtrips - she said YES! - A POSITIVE SIGN OF FRIENDSHIP RESTARTING???

As she left I said that hopefully/possibly see you in a few months -she replied I'll see you at the roadtrip - we said bye and she gave me a tight hug - ANOTHER POSITIVE SIGN???

She needed a hug from my mate as it was too much for her to take in!

IS THE FRIENDSHIP REALLY LOST???

Sounds to me like you have a good chance at another shot at her friendship.
Although I actually think that her "you never hurt me" response was meant to either show you that you aren't important anymore ( which in girl talk only means that you really are ) or that she wanted you to talk more, to ask about why she broke it off with you.

Give both of you a little time and distance, and when you meet again, be sweet and gentle and ask her if she wants to talk about what happened or if she would rather just start from scratch.

Good luck to you

wow no, the friendship isn't lost. But man, I'd be pissed too if I turned down one of my dorktastic friends and they were like "oh I'm sorry if I hurt you" It's about winning. You=friend. So yes, that's about it, you're her friend still, good for you. I turn down my friends all the time, it never ruins relationships.

no, she is just on the defensive. it sounds like she still wants to be friends, but needs time...so give it time! in a few months you'll probably be friends again.
