Hello, I was told 2 months ago that I have a pituitary gland tumor (small). I went to endocrinologist 15 days ago and she says that I don't have one because my prolaction levels are fine, but yet I am lactating. About a 6 months ago I starting getting really sick. It comes and goes I can be good one day and bad the next. I am Malaise, memory loss, can't preform small jobs or tasks. A month ago I could not barely walk for two days. In the hospital. I can't tell my mind fast enough to move my feet and legs. I think I need an MRI but the endocrinologist doesn't think I need one and the neurologist thinks that it is stress. I don't think my life is stressful. No more than the next person. My Family doctor says he feels I need a MRI ASAP but he can not order me one. If there is anyone out there that has some answers for me please please help me. I am scared and don't now what to do about it.

Drop your endo and find a good pituitary specialist endo. I assume they originally diagnosed tumor from MRI? You need not just an MRI but a pituitary MRI (more focused). You have symptoms of hypopituitarism. The best pituitary specialist in my opinion is Dr. Friedman in L.A. CA, www.goodhormonehealth.com. If you have to travel to see him it is worth it! Look at the table of symptoms on the site and you will see all your symptoms. Good luck.

.3mm is very small and most likely not effecting your system too much. Visit pituitary.com and you will see that approximately 20% of the population has some type of pituitary tumor. Most just never know because you need a brain MRI to detect them.

You must have had an MRI in the past, how else would you know about the tumor? The important part is to make sure that it isn't growing, but .3mm is so small it is going to be hard to tell. Many tumors under 10mm aren't even treated unless they are growing.

You may want to get a hormone workup from your Dr. to see if anything is wrong.

Have your thyroid levels checked. The symptoms you describe are indicative of thyroid disease. It is seldom diagnosed correctly, as it can be successfully treated with very inexpensive medication, seldom needs surgery. Surgery is where the money is, soooooo....

it sounded like you have already diagnosed yourself even though your Doctor does not agree.
