I just recently joined a Ballroom Association and taken on a new dance partner. I knew he had an attraction to me and I thought I would be able to control my attraction to him, but it seems I was wrong. The problem: I have a boyfriend! I feel like my attraction to my dance partner might be strengthened by the fact that I am in a long-distance relationship 7 months out of the year. I don't want to enter a relationship with my dance partner because I'm in love my boyfriend. But, my dance partner is determined to pursue me even though he knows I have a boyfriend! I've tried my best to say "no" to my dance partner's many efforts, but I think he takes it as "try harder!" (Okay, I come off as a little flirty.) But, this needs to stop before something terrible happens. I don't want to make things weird because it’s not possible to just GET a great dance partner to compete with. How do I say "you need to stop dropping by, calling me sweetheart and asking me out!" in a way that's not offensive?

Just say " I really apprecitate that you think this way of me, but i have a boyfriend and i really love him, I'm just asking if you could respect my relationship because it's really important to me and i dont want to mess it up. I'd really appreciate it if you just gave me space for a while ,please." or something like that

Well, there is ONLY ONE way to stop this. You will not like it. Join a new dance club. Tell your dance partner to Tango with some other woman. If he is not mature enough to just have you for the dance on the floor then you will Foxtrot off to another place. Don't Waltz around the problem, as you will not be able to Swing your way out of this Salsa, situation. Give your mind a Break dance and leave while your Square partner is spinning from your NO's. Leave now. Don't keep Dipping or Spinning. End the Music .....Stop Period. Good Luck

Don't take this wrong, I mean no offense, but long distance relationships NEVER work out in the long run. This is just the way it is. I would say if your not married, and attracted to your new dance partner, go for it. I assume your in your teens or your twenty's, and in my opinion this is the time to date as many people your interested in. And I don't mean sleeping around, just find out who and what you really like and want out of a partner. Again, not trying to be insensitive to your current relationship. Best of luck!

Okay here goes the truth hurts but someone has to say it. You admitted to being attracted to this guy and being flirty. YOU are putting the vibes out, either stop it with this guy completely even if he is a good dance partner, because if your relationship is important to you, you will put it first, or give up your relationship. You have to figure out which is more important.

There are some guys that will not take no for an answer and your dance partner seems to be one of them. The only thing I would suggest is to get a new dance partner. There seems to be no other alternative. Good luck

I understand how you feel.. But just think about your bf for a sec. I guess you really love him and just think about the pain you'd cause him if he even read this .. Stay faithful tell that dance partner of yours to take a flying ****..
