Alpha pretty much said it all. I disagree though, that we don't celebrate st paddy's day here. Go to any "Irish" pub and it will be packed.

As for where most of the Irish live, they're everywhere! They don't run in packs like the grunions.

The St. Patrick's day parade in Los Angeles takes place on Friday March 16,

Saturday, March 17th
Gala St. Patrick's Day Celebration Banquet at the Glendale Hilton Hotel ,100 W Glenoaks Blvd
Hosted by Irish Center of Southern California
1931 W. Glenoaks Blvd.
Glendale, CA 91201

Saturday, March 17th
St. Patrick’s Day Grand Ball and Rose of Tralee Debutante Presentation at the Sheraton Universal Hotel

If these are not to your liking, a visit to any of the Irish pubs on St. Patrick's day should be fun:

Casey's Irish Bar & Grille
613 S. Grand (between 6th & Wilshire)
Los Angeles, CA 90017

Hennessey's Tavern
Manhatten Beach

O'Brien's or Finn McCool's in
Santa Monica

And if one pub is not enough you might want to pop down to Long Beach for an organised pub crawl:

"An old English double-decker bus will take groups to four of Long Beach's acclaimed Irish Pubs and drop them off at the Queen Mary to top the night off in the Observation Bar."
