Darwin's theory of evolution supercedes the story of creation, the New Testament's gospels were written some many years (and centuries) after the 'life of Jesus', and large swathes of the bible are known to be historically inaccurate.

Furthermore God has never shown himself in anyway throughout recorded history.

Isn't it ludicrous to think there is a God?

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able, nor willing? Then why call him God?"
-Epicurus

Assumption: Everything must be created by someone
Random Religious Conclusion: God created everything
Question: Who created God?

Assumption: Humans get our morals from God and religion.
Random Religious Conclusion: Without religion and God, people cannot choose the right thing to do.
Conclusion-buster:
Why is it wrong to steal? Because God said so? What if God said that it is right to steal? What if God said it is right to murder? Would you agree with God? In other words, your brain is making the decision, based on what your brain believes is right, not because God says something is right or wrong. But you are weak to do the right thing without certification of some authority you trust and that's where God fills in. You need God to affirm that you are doing the right thing because you have a weak mind to stand up for your own actions.
For more information on the importance of affirmation by an authority in the human actions, read about Milgram's experiments at Yale.
Extreme Form of the Same Logic:
If you are angry about something and want to kill people, and if God tells you that a "holy war" is correct, you would indulge in a holy war to kill people you do not agree with. Go figure!
Reality: Morality is wired into your brain. It is there due to evolution. Besides, religion did not exist before language or expression. Humans still cared about each other. Else, you wouldn't be alive today. Morality can exist without religion and without God.

Random Statement: X must be true, because it is written in the Bible (Koran, Gita, ...)
Question: Who wrote the Bible (Koran, Gita, ...)?

Assumption: Without God, life would be meaningless
Bigger Assumption: Life needs meaning.

Religion is excellent for keeping common people quiet.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

On the contrary, the Bible is statistically and scientifically more accurate than any historical document we hold to be fact. There is far more, recent evidence of Jesus' existence than that of Julius Ceasar. The earliest copies of the Bible were written only a few years after Jesus' death, whereas the earliest copies of the documents about Ceaser were written thousands of years after his death. There are thousands times more copies of the Bible than of the Caesar documents, and all are roughly the same accounting for its accuracy. For details of this amazingly scientific evidence go here: www.gospeloutreach.net/bible2.html

It is ludicrous NOT to believe in the authenticity of the Bible. And, as the Bible claims there IS a God, it follows it is ludicrous not to believe in God. Add to that the many personal accounts of Christians all over the world, and the face Jesus is changing lives millions of years after He walked this earth, and you have a very strong case for Christ.

Also, I don't believe the theory of evolution and creation are necessarily mutually exclusive. The account of creation in genesis says BIRDS and FISH were created first, then ANIMALS, then HUMANS. Sounds surprisingly like dinosaurs, then monkeys, then humans..... it may just be a different time scale... it does say "A day is like a thousand years" to God or something in the Bible later...

Some say the New Testament was written 100-300 years after Christ died, the truth is that it was written before the close of the first century by those who either knew Christ personally, had encountered him, or were under the direction of those who were His disciples.

The book of Acts was written by Luke. But Luke fails to mention the destruction of Jerusalem in 79. A.D., nor does he mention the deaths of James (A.D. 62), Paul (A.D. 64), and Peter (A.D. 65). Since Acts is a historical document dealing with the church, we would naturally expect such important events to be recorded if Acts was written after the fact. Since Acts 1:1-2 mentions that it is the second writing of Luke, the gospel of Luke was written even earlier. Also, Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple in the gospels: "As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down," (Luke 21:5, see also Matt. 24:1; Mark 13:1). Undoubtedly, if Matthew, Mark, and Luke were written after the destruction of the Temple, they would have included the fulfillment of Christ's prophecy in them. Since they don't, it is very strong indication that they were written before 70 A.D.

Also the cities mentioned in the Bible that have been found and excavated by archaeologists. This is simply more evidence that the Bible describes actual locations that can be verified. This means that at the very least, the Bible accurately reflects the locations and cities of ancient times.

Well where do i start, first there is no proof that God does not exist, you say he has never shown himself, well open your eyes, can you really say that, lots of people on here always give the thumbs down, but the truth is they can not prove it, and they on here trying to find out more to prove it either way, because if someone 100% believes he does not exist they would not argue the point, and spend hours going over the same thing, all without proof.
Tell me why can't God and evolution go together, maybe it's because you believe in the Bible to much, remember man wrote it so the truth is very hard to find, and think of this try and explain evolution to someone thousands of years ago do you really think they would understand it, we don't know it all now, but if you were to right a story on how life began would it not make things easier, and maybe call the first male and female Adam and Eve, and before all the thumbs down come long ask yourselves this PROVE ME WRONG, I can't prove I'm right, but i do have faith in God, and seen to much to believe otherwise

Yes there is a God. Just because you can't see him that doesn't mean that he isn't there. Your conscience and the ideas you get out of nowhere and second thoughts is God speaking to you. The way the human body is made and the different functions it does is Gods plan. I guess you just have to have faith and not live on "facts". Because once you know that you are a monkey, what does that do for you in life? Does it make you a better person? Is it going to make you a successful person? I don't think so. When you have God in your life, you most likely become a better person and believe that anything is possible!

Actually, God has shown Himself continually throughout history through the appearance of countless Messengers of God. These beings are perfect mirrors of God in human form, Who reflect all His attributes and progressively reveal His Word to humanity. Throughout history, new civilizations have been based on their teachings and society has advanced through their influence. These Manifestations of God include Abraham, Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, the Bab and Baha'u'llah. The latest of these is Baha'u'llah, Whose teachings are suitable for the age in which we now live and will form the basis of the future world civilization.

Baha'u'llah taught that science and religion should go hand in hand, so evolution can be understood in a religious context. God created humanity through this mechanism.

Yes I agree, but I think alot of people take comfort in religion and believing this stuff, so I say just let them get on with it. If something makes someone feel a tiny bit better after the death of a loved one, i don't think it really matters if it's true or not, it's not like we will ever know for sure until it's too late anyway.
I did used to have a scary thought that what it God and the after life only exsisted if you really truley believed they will? But now I'm resigned that they don't exsist anyway, so never mind.
Still, they believe in God, we don't, live and let live.

Absolutely!!! It was something more formal, yet I used to talk to Him whatever the reason and because I kept forward to my own ambition and desires, when He gave me avertisements I saved none and did my way going into more and more trubles! Into an end, within a deep depresion, He saved my life (!!!) the very second I left away of all my deep desires... There, empty heart, I was filled with God's Light and Peace and Love - a complete New LIFE, a new body, a New Vision over the past and the future :) :) :) Yes, He is my Saviour!!!

The same question over and over again. Evolution is true but who created universe? There is no scientific explanation about this and I don't think there will ever be. At the end of the day people need to believe in something which gives meaning to their lives. Not only the weak.

1. absolutely yes there is a God (as well as many FALSE gods)
2. odd (and flawed) statement that one theory "supercedes" another as you give NOTHING in the way of real support
3. God has shown, and CONTINUES to show, Himself in many, many ways in MY LIFE and in the lives of millions of others.
4. No, it's not "ludicrous" to think (believe) in God.

5. Poorly stated argument with virtually NO logic flow.

Yaks(pbut).
