That is a question that has plagued Christians for a long, long time.

Some have thought that babies would be born with original sin - i.e. in a fallen state due to the sins of Adam and Eve. In Psalm 51:5, David wrote, "I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." David recognized that even at conception, he was a sinner.

Some people have believed that there is an age of accountablility (usually around 13, but it would be different for each person) and if you died before that age then you would be automatically saved because you did not yet have the capacity to accept or reject.

Also, some have relied on the concepts that Christ's death is presented as sufficient for all of mankind. First John 2:2 says Jesus "is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world." This verse is clear that Jesus' death was sufficient for all sins, not just the sins of those who specifically have come to Him in faith. The fact that Christ's death was sufficient for all sin would allow the possibility of God applying that payment to those who were never capable of believing.

Though the Bible leaves open the possibility, the one problem with saying that God applies Christ's payment for sin to those who can't believe is that the Bible does not specifically say that He does this. Therefore, this is a subject for which we should not be adamant or dogmatic.

Some have theorized that one must come to an understanding of good and evil before one is accountable for their sins. Some have said that babies would not be accountable because they are not yet subject to the law - they are not "under the law."

Yours is a complex question. Don't let the people here try to tell you it is simple. They may think they know the answer, but most people have a limited understanding of what the Bible says, and they have convinced themselves that what they think seems fair is absolutely and completely correct. And, it may well be. However, it may not be. And, you are free to give this as much, or as little, thought as you like. You are free to disagree with people and make up your own mind, and you can be confident that you are still a good Christian.

Keep thinking about this stuff. It is very interesting, and you will become wiser the more you do.

No, children are under the grace of God until they reach the age of being held responsible for good and evil things- not just right and wrong. It is different for every person. Usually between 7-12 though.
As for animals, they only have spirits and the bible says they just return to the ground from which they came. They do not have eternal souls like man does. However, the bible speaks of certain animal like beings in heaven, but he created them there in heaven.

Hope that helps.

Are you a Christian who is 10 years old? Or, are you a 10 year old who is a Christian?

What happens when a baby dies right after birth? I believe that the baby's soul is held with love and mercy in the arms of the one true God, and that His Son, Jesus protects that soul. I do NOT believe that that soul goes to "hell".

Animals? They don't have souls. At least MOST people believe that way. Since they don't have souls, there aren't souls to go anywhere at all. They just die.

Yaks(pbut).

Children and babies go back to God. There is an age of accountability - that God knows when you will know right from wrong - that is when salvation must come in to play. As for animals - they just die - they have no souls. I like to believe there is a "doggy and kitty heaven" but just not true. I have a little doggy that I want to be with me in Heaven - but again probably not going to happen. Blessings to you dear one and continue serving the Lord with all your heart and soul - He will guide you in this life.

God knows us before we are born.Sometimes when babies are born and die the parents turn to God for help so this is a way for god to use a sad time to help people. The baby hasn't had time to do anything bad so God brings that baby home to heaven. The Bible also mentions of gods creations in Heaven and the lion and the lamb eating grass together in the fields. Imagine Lions eating grass! God created them and god decides what they will eat! Animals in heaven? I would have to say yes!! Babies in Heaven? Yes to that as well! God bless!

All babies that die go to heaven. God is fair and allows a person to have a chance to understand right from wrong before He requires them to become Christians. The bible doesn't mention that animals go to heaven.

The infants will go to heaven. They haven't reached the age of accountability, which means that they aren't grown up enough to make their own decisions. The book of Revelations says that there are animals in heaven.
