we had an article in the paper about a peanut butter that was found to have somanilla in it and it has been taken of the shelves but not before half the jar of peanut butter has been eaten. Now we wonder if it could be the cause of some health problems we have had lately but can't find any specific info on the symptoms.
Anyone help???

The list of signs and symptoms mentioned in various sources for Salmonella food poisoning includes the 8 symptoms listed below:

Sudden onset of symptoms
Severe headache
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Abdominal cramps
Fever
Flu-like symptoms
Loss of appetite

Symptoms appear about one-two days after infection, and include fever (in 50% of patients), nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps and pain. The diarrhea is usually very liquid, and rarely contains mucus or blood. Diarrhea usually lasts for about four days. The illness usually ends in about five-seven days.

some of the symptoms are mild to severe abdominal cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, if you have these symptoms, go to the doctor right away. I had food poisoning a few years ago, and it was horrible. I spent the entire night in the bathroom. Look on the label to see if it's the brand and lot number they are talking about. it supposed to be Great Value and Jiffy peanut butter.

I have one of those jars also. It too is half gone and no one in my house has gotten sick from it.

Can cause nausea, diarrhea and other ill effects, but usually the sickness clears up on its own in less than a week.
