I am wondering what the restrictions are for bringing bottled wine in my carry on? I am nervous about puttiing it in my suitcase because of breakage. Any suggestions?

You will have to check the wine because of the restrictions on liquids. Get a shipper from a winery or larger retailer. They will have 1,2,3,4,6, and 12 packs. I have checked countless cases of wine in the styrofoam shippers and have never had a problem with breakage. If you are leaving the US, you may have to pay duties to your destination country.

Wrap the bottles securely in bubble wrap and pack securely in your checked baggage. Many stores have travel packaging available at a nominal charge.

You are not allowed to carry liquids exceeding 3oz., in your carry on. You must also be of legal age to possess the alcohol....sounds silly but you would be amazed how many people buy wine as gifts only to have it confiscated because they are not legally old enough to possess and consume it.

You can't bring any liquid more than 3 oz in your carry on, so you will have to check it. I'm sure the wineries can provide you with packaging so that you can check your wine safely.

If you want to take wine, you'll have to check it. Many wineries have boxes that will protect your wine.
