Obviously, you are an intelligent young lady and you are learning to think for yourself. The reason you are struggling with it, is because the belief in god has most likely been ingrained in your mind since you were young. Alot of atheist, who have been raised by religious parents, have gone through this as well. It is normal. Now that you are starting to think for yourself, you can examine the religious rhetoric being pushed on you and come to the same conclusion that alot of others have came to as well. Their is no god. Once you do, you will find it much easier to deal with the beliefs that pop into your head over and over. Finally you will be free of the mindless ignorance, called religion.

You CAN'T really "choose" what to believe. I grew up Catholic, and had a very strong faith. Over time, I became an atheist. It's not like believing was a switch that I voluntarily turned off. You either believe, or you don't. Sometimes, you'll probably go back and forth between believing and non-believing, especially in the beginning. (You don't just stop believing what you grew up believing overnight.) Follow your heart, and use your brain. You don't HAVE to think anything. Let what comes, come.

You don't really choose to be an atheist. If its a choice you feel you are making then you are probably agnostic, you do not choose not to believe in Santa Claus one day it just doesn't make sense.

You think you are becoming atheist? It's not really a state of becoming, or finding out, it's more of a conscious choice. Perhaps you are agnostic instead. Either way, make your own choices and think for yourself, and do not accept labels that others put on you.

it is normal to question beliefs, it is how I became an Atheist. There is nothing wrong with bieng an Atheist, christians will tell you you are going to hell etc but it is all bs, they try to force you to believe.

It is perfectly normal to question your faith and beliefs, but there is nothing saying you absolutely must.
You don't have to stop thinking the same things over and over.

When your young you believe in God. When you get a little older you tend to move away from God. Then has you age you tend to move towards God. I've had to many spiritual insights not to believe that there is a God

Only you can decide what to believe...I'm biased because of my lack of belief in a 'god', but,it all can be explained by purely logical thinking....if there is a 'god', where's the proof of his/her/its existence?.....no proof, so I don't believe as an example.
