I read that there was a slaughter of hundreds of thousands of religious people by an atheist ruling party in France following the revolution. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Hundreds of thousands may be an exaggeration but yes this is true. Priests were imprisoned in rotten ships offshore which were frequently sunk to save feeding them. During the reign of terror a whole convent of nuns was taken out and guillotined. They were enclosed and could not possibly have been involved in any political intrigue.

The French revolution was not an Atheist revolution to kill religious people. It was the middle and lower class overthrowing the aristocracy. The clergy at the time were in cahoots with the king; the church would preach that the King was appointed by God and in return get favors from the King.

in the previous anybody broke removed from the church, they have been all christians following Jesus who taught us the Mass on the final supper together with his Apostles. The be conscious Catholic potential standard. Which meant honestly everyone who replaced into christian belonged to the common church. Oh there have been different ideals then, however the christians belonged to the religion Jesus taught us. purely after guy desperate that Jesus did not understand what He replaced into speaking approximately, did they smash unfastened from the church and commenced their own sect. The be conscious Protestant is one in each and every of those protest. it is the place this term protestant got here in. perhaps you like the term semi-christian or very almost christian particularly. Do you quite think of Jesus replaced into kidding while Jesus suggested," who eats my flesh and beverages my blood will attain eternity in heaven." This got here from Jesus and not guy. Catholics do not say protestants to discredit them, they say protestants by using fact it quite is in simple terms what they are Protesters.God bless you.
