The only response I have ever gotten is that "we are not robots".
There has to be a better explanation than that!

No actually Calvinism teaches very much the responsibility and accountability of man. Yes it teaches the absolute Sovereignty of God in every situation but God is far greater than us and just because we can't understand how he controls every event yet brings about His purposes with out fail does not mean He is not able to do it. The Bible is full of events God said would happen and they did exactly as He said yet He did not force the persons involved to do what they did. Jesus was chosen to be the Lamb of God who would suffer and die for His people from before the foundation of the world yet those who crucified Him not only were responsible for murdering Him but had accomplished exactly what God has said would happen. This is the majesty of God that causes us to rightly fear Him as the Almighty God not some mere creature like us.

I think we are robots, because we have parts and robots have parts. If you remove any of our parts then we function poorly or stop functioning all together, much like robots. We both have fluids that are detrimental tp our functioning. Blood keeps our systems running, oil keeps robots systems running. The only real argument against this is the fact we have emotions and the ability to learn. But the future could have these things instore for us.
