When I was competing I would run for an hour 3x a week throughout the year plus weekend 10k - marathon races during the spring and summer. I would also do crunches x 100 every night and stretch for about half an hour after that.

When I skated I would do off ice training twice a week, and I would do weight lifting , 300 sit ups, practice jumps on the floor, balance exercises, running around the ice rink (up and down the stairs), and practiced spirals with the direction of one of my coach's who is trained in the area of off ice training. That was pretty much it, and I know that all of my friends still do that routine (I don't skate anymore because I got Complex Regional Pain Syndrome even though I hope to skate again)
