Go.
If you feel left out, then you can always leave, but never turn down opportunity for free food! I have attended many pre-trade show parties in strange towns with hundreds of people there and I would not know a single person. However, it beats sitting in a hotel room, and there was free food and open bar. I would just find someone to small talk with (I like your blouse, purse, shoes...always a good starter). Eat, drink, then leave!
Have fun, carpe diem! (sieze the day) Life is too short to sit home and eat peanut butter sandwiches.

Take it as an opportunity to get to meet some interesting folk. Just keep wandering around looking like you know where you are going if it's a big place, you're bound to get talking to someone.
Maybe lots of new pals there or if not - they don't know you anyway so you can make up a whole new person and be whoever you want! Have fun
at least you can leave if you don't like it and no-one will know!

Go, if she invited you she obviously wants you to go. Chances are that you'll get along with her other friends just fine! Even if things don't work out, the party will be over in a matter of hours and you'll know for next time. This may seem like a big deal now, but in the grand scheme of things, looking back, it will be nothing!

Bring a friend with you as a buffer. At least that way you'll know someone other than the person having the party. Also, instead of being taken aback by the fact that you were invited be flattered that she thought to invite you to a party shes having with some of her closest friends.

Go and when your hostess greets you say something like, "I didn't want to miss your party, but I've got a splitting headache, so if I have to leave suddenly, you'll know why."
And if you have a good time, your "head ache" didn't interfere with it. And if the occasion turns out to be an ordeal, you've already established the perfect excuse if you have to make an early exit.

Just try to get to know your friend and her friends better. Who knows, you might meet a friend of the future...

GO, you might meet some new friends. You can always leave if it becomes a drag.

What's the question?
Go and talk to people, or stay home and eat doritos. Both have their benefits.
