Instead of walking on the treadmill for an hour... pick up the pace and lessen the time by running (5-6 miles per hour) for 15-30 minutes... whatever you can handle at the beginning and slowly build up the time at the same rate. I wanted to get down to a 32 waist also, and now I'm at 30 (or 29 by some designers). Good luck... you can shed this by running more in a matter of 2 - 3 months if not less. Enough time to save up a little for some new fitting clothes! ;)

Improved muscle definition comes from losing body fat, not from increasing muscle size. For a healthy lean body, you need to find a balance between exercise and diet. Weight training will condition the muscle, but unless you address your total calorie intake, all that hard work will be hiding under a layer of fat.

I'm 49 and almost made it. But i am the same way, I want the small waist too. What I did is bought this video of some insane lady doing every known torture to ab muscles known to man! By focusing on that alone I am almost there! She is truly evil though, truly evil, why would she make men cry so much?

Stay out of the pool. That will make you keep a light layer of extra fat. Just swap that pool stuff with abs and more interval tredmill.

-cut the milk and banana for breakfast; have bread and green tea
-have carrot, celery, salad and a little meat for lunch
-eat more vegetables, less meat
-green tea is good for you
-do exercises regularly
*don't do exercise if you haven't had enough sleep or rest (dangerous!)
*make sure you have good digestion and go to the washroom regularly
