I work in a steel mill 50-60 hours a week and my hands are like sandstone. Girls tell me I could probably smooth wood with them. Heheh. Anyway, any way I could make them less rough without getting a bunch of girly stuff?

cocao butter or shea butter will work or any other lotion like jergens...anyways...apply the lotion before you go to bed and put on some gloves or mittens...this will lock in the moisture. and wearing them to bed...you won't have to walk around with gloves on.
You could even do it at work when you wear your gloves but if you don't want the guys to say anything.. hehe

Okay I am a Mary Kay consultant so I am very partial to the suggestions of using the Satin Hands products like others have suggested. It's a great set of products and the Extra Emollient Night Cream would be a great/better alternative to the overnight Vaseline treatment suggestions.
My ex-boyfriend used the Extra Emollient cream on some callouses he had on his hands and they were much easier to sloth off. He slathered his hands with the cream and then covered them with a pair of socks overnight.

I do have another more "manly" suggestion, it's a product my dad has around all the time. Goop. It's comes in a regular and a pumice formula, and in regular or Orange scented.

Follow that up with any really good hand lotion and you should have some pretty good results.

Umm........no not really! I think ur best bet would be Satin Hands from Mary Kay. It has three steps and works amazing! Ur hands will be smooth all day long w/o reapplying! Just go to the Mary Kay website and order it. It is kind of expensive. It's $35.00 for all three steps. But again, it's ur best bet. And it doesn't have a girly sent after applying! Something that you wouldn't want but that most lotions would have!

The old Crisco and socks over the hands at night method. Rub Crisco on your hands and cover with an old pair of clean white cotton socks, next morning wash as usual. Do the routine for a good week every night, it will soften your hands. You won't smell like a french fry!

A good man's lotion is Corn Husker's Lotion-available at almost any drug store.

i have the same problem and once worked at a honey farm. the constant soaking in honey softened the hands while they were still tough but this was an all day thing and would be costly to have to buy raw honey. lots and lots of hand cream seem to make a difference and takeing a bottle of the cheapist stuff you can find to eork and putting it on at coffee breaks and dinner time helps some though.

Plain old Vaseline. Load your hands every night before bed. It is a great moisturizer. Also, if you have the time, try to put regular lotion on whenever you wash your hands, even if you only do it when you're at home. Vaseline Intensive Care is good.

I heard the best non-girlie product for very rough hands is a lotion called corn huskers lotion. I know for a fact it's at walmart and undoubtfully at any drugstore. It's fairly cheap and said to truly work. Hope this helps.

I agree with the Vaseline answer. Cover them in Vaseline and put some rubber or plastic gloves on. It works wonders!

Get some salt or sugar scrub it takes off all the dead or dry skin and then moisturizes the remaining skin it works every time. But a warning don't use it everyday.
