The bottled version (yuk!) was around until about then. It was a popular drink for women for about 30 years. Best make your own, it's very simple, or any proper barman with make you one. Basically, it's advocaat and lemonade, half and half or however you like it, and well stirred. Properly made it will also have a dash of lime juice and half a measure of gin. Give it a go!

In England a 'Snowball' is a sort of cocktail. You can buy them ready made in bottle but they are not very nice - best idea is to buy a bottle of Advocaat, put about an inch in a tumbler glass top up with lemonade (or to taste preference) and top with a maraschino cherry on a cocktail stick. Yummy!!

snowball is a mixed drink which is Varnicks (brand name) Advocaat and lemonade with dash of lime juice.
I'm sure you'll find this ready mixed drink in all major supermarkets, if not you can buy advocaat yourself and mix your own.
