I get a great laugh from the responses I see towards people's questions. I also laugh at some of the responses I get to my questions because I know the person is making fun of me.

What I don't understand is how people can be cruel or mean to others whom it is obvious that their question is asked in innocence/ignorance without malice. Would you laugh and point at an injured child? would you call a child asking you a question "what an idiot" or would you say "are you stupid?" no question is stupid if it comes from the heart.

Some people laugh at other people's pain. Others don't. Neither can explain why they laugh or don't laugh. It's just one of the mysteries of human nature.

I agree, when questions are asked in innocence/ignorance without malice and come from the heart. Unfortunately there are those that are deliberately ignorant and it is not hard to pick them out. I sure do, and I gladly reply to their stupidity, and call it for what it is, if in fact it is even worth my while to be bothered to answer them. Most times it is not and I pass them by. There is much godlessness on the internet and perhaps some person can be helped by the things we say, whether said in kindness or in reprimand.

I am only mean to those questions which are really very stupid (and some are - wherever they come from).

If they are coming from children or teenagers than they should say so - otherwise I assume they are from adults.

Ignorance is not a defence; if you know nothing, then nothing is the best thing to say.

its only the cruel and immature people that laugh at one's short comings. i personally dont see anything funny about ignorance and a lack of morals and self control which seems to run rampant in yahoo answers.

As for me i only insult people if i know for sure they are asking a dumb question intentionally.
Or if they are Muslims, because i hate Islam.
