Two of my friends went on a road trip by themselves when they were 16 ... I was invented but no way I cant stand road trips and plus is was camping .... not my thing lol ... their road trip was to camp in every state in the west ... they made it too ... they tackled all the states (in the west)

But I don't see why not if your parents are ok with it and you both are responsible and know to to manage time and money i think it would be fun ... my friends came back safe lol

If you end up going ... I hope you have fun

Get one more friend to go with you, trust me. I recently did 10 states in 4 days with a buddy of mine, and I wish we would have had another with us. It's hard to stay awake when your friend is sacked out from driving. Also, an odd number prevents decision stalemates about food and anything else, and lessens the amount each person has to kick in for gas.

I don't know how far you're going, but try to keep it to a day of driving for 3 people at a time. I did spring break in '05 from Youngstown, Ohio to Key West, FL and nearly strangled my frat brothers in the car. 29 hours one-way. Four of us did it in a Honda Accord and we're built like 2 linebackers, a wide-out, and a tailback. I'm not sayin we wanted out of that car, but in South Carolina we passed the cars that left 6 hours ahead of us.

Now to echo everyone else: If the folks are cool with it, and you want to do it, go for it. Just don't trust anyone you meet too much, and by too much, I mean at all. Get what you want out of the trip and get home.

Why would there be a problem if your parents agree with it? Even if they don't i would go anyway. It's important to show your parents early who's boss while not completely pissing them off.

It's ok for you to want just about anything. It's up to your parents to decide if it's ok to do it.
