I know it depends on the person, but usually how long do you have to know someone before you put them in a category. When do you know he is just a friend or possibly a boyfriend?

that has got to be the hardest question ever! There are some guys that the moment you meet them you know right away, but then there are some that you could know them for years and one day see them in a whole new light. I think the latter make the better relationships because they are built on long friendships. don't lose hope, it could happen.

Hm, for me, would be many factors. Am I attracted to him? What commonalities do we share? How does he treat me? At this point , I usually know right away. When you are in a position in your life in what you need from a person for your own personality. One can figure it out , right away. Some people are slow to warm types and need time to break out of their shell. This can turn out to be the diamond in the rough. The difference for me is the level of chemistry for a romantic interest. My male friends, I don't feel this way for them. I don't know if this helps, since every person is different.

Well for me ussually a week or 2. U always get that good friend vibe or crush vibe.
