I'm not clear on what you're asking but Christians do believe women and men are equal in value but have different roles in a marriage. Men are the head of the house and women submit to the husband's ultimate decision making. A functional, Christian relationship has the man taking council from his wife but ultimately, the final decision is his. I don't like the word "submit" b/c it doesn't mean what we think it does. I prefer to use the word "yield." Ephesians is very clear about this(now I'm paraphrasing), women submit(yield) to your husbands the way the church submitted to Jesus Christ and husbands love your wifes the way Jesus loved the church. There are other places in where it talks about the roles of husbands and wives. I hope this helps.

God blames Eve for tempting Adam with the fruit (she eally had to pressure him-eyeroll), so he cursed all women to have pain during childbirth; a woman has a kid, she is 'unclean' a longer amt of time if a female is born; when anything in the OT is compared humanistically, it's always as an attractive young woman (either as a whore or there's a 'nice' description when refering to Jerusalem but no mention of intelligence-just beauty & loyalty) the NT says women are to stay quiet in church-no talking' the Bible constantly seperates according to gender and has different rules for men vs women to follow...
Women submitting to their husbands and respecting them would be great if all men did like-wise-gave them something to respect, but the truth is, they don't, and according to the Bible, women should obey their husband no matter what.

i'm so excited that you asked this question because I'm studying this topic right now. I think it's important to note the difference between submission and subordinate. We submit to authority everyday because of the laws of the government, but that doesn't mean we are slaves to them. I think a lot of theologians and Biblical scholars twist the words around so that they mean something different when in reality, the Bible never says that women are of lesser importance then men. When supporting this statement, many will quote 1 Timothy 2:12-13 that states women are not to teach or have authority over men, but it's crazy to apply this to our society now! This command was given by Paul specifically for the church in Ephesus because the women were not educated, so how could they teach? It was also inappropriate for them to speak in public unless given permission by their husbands, and this definitely does not apply to us now. Don't believe everything you hear. Many people will quote the Bible irresponsibly and out of context.

1 Corinthians 11:3: "...Christ is the head of every man, and a husband the head of his wife, and the head of Christ is God. (NIV)". There is some debate among theologians about the translation of the Greek word "kephale" as "head." However that word is universally used in New Testament translations.

1 Corinthians 11:7-9:"For a man...is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head." (NIV) This refers to the practice of women wearing hair covering as a sign of inferiority. This is not longer widely observed today.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35: "...women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says, If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." (NIV) This is a curious passage. It appears to prohibit all talking by women during services. But it contradicts verse 11:5, in which St. Paul states that women can actively pray and prophesy during services.

Concerning Husband and Wife
The husband is the head: 1 Cor. 11:3 - But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.
The husband is the leader: Gen. 18:19 -- For I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice; in order that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.
Wife is subject to husband: Col. 3:18 -- Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. cf., Eph. 5:22-24
Husband is to love his wife: Eph. 5:25, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her;
Sexual duty: 1 Cor. 7:3 Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
Sexual Purity: Exodus 20:14 - You shall not commit adultery.
Prov. 12:4, An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who shames him is as rottenness in his bones
Prov. 14:1, The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.
Prov. 19:13, A foolish son is destruction to his father, And the contentions of a wife are a constant dripping.

the man is not superior to the woman by any means. he has simply been given " charge " over her. he is to provide for her, lover her, protect her , and shelter her. these are honorable things that cause a woman to submit to her husband. when adam was alone god gave him a wife saying that it is not good that man should be alone. both adam and eve failed in their obedience to god and were punished. part of eves punishment was pain in child birth and part of admas was to work the land in order to provide for his family. men, don;t get it twisted. just becauses you are male does not mean that you are " head" of anything. if you are not fulling your commandment to love your wife AS CHRIST LOVED the church. you are not worthy to have the submission of your wife. the bible says " he that findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtains favor from the lord. remeber that your wife is your GOOD thing and the reason you will be favored. it is not about superiority of the sexes, it is about a god given role and purpose that is our responsibility to fulfill. may GOD BLESS THE READERS AND DOERS OF HIS WORD......AMEN...OH and just to add....please remember also that moses was the author of the old testament. jesus is the finisher of the new testament. the laws of moses were wiped out when jesus came on the scene. that is why they stopped stoning people. " jesus said let he who is with out sin cast the first stone" all had to drop their stones because we have all fallen short of the glory of god. be ye a wise steward over all of your blessings and he shall make haste to deliver you more.( this includes your wife or husband)
