I am not talking about honesty but openess. I wouldn't tell a girl I was dating all my dirty secrets.... but what should I tell her? I don't want to turn a girl off by letting to much of myself out in the beginning..... but shouldn't I be myself? I joke around a lot with my friends and coworkers and they like it... but how do I know how much to joke around with a girl I am just beginning to date? I havn't had the best past and I will let her know this, I have also come a long way from the guy I used to be... but some of the stuff I have done-it seems like it would turn any girl off if I told her.

You don't have to share all of your past with a new gf. Just be who you are today. Thats all that matters. If she ask certain questions, you again don't have to discuss all of your personal stuff. The only things that would be important to tell her right away are, if you have an STD, are bi-sexual, sex offender, a Flasher, alcoholic or drug user, married, or have a gf. Oh and of course if you have ever killed anyone. If none of those apply, then your good to go. Your a good guy, let her see the best of you. In time she will see the worst and she will love you anyway.

Lend, its a nice thing to be open. When you are dating the girl, i think you should not be really really open, till you find out what in her vocabulary is ''openness''. Till then, be who you are without your dark past. I mean, You are YOU, without te past or present or future, just be what you are.....see if she loves you for what you are, and then all the issues of openness, or honesty comes in the picture.
It takes a lot of intimacy to be ''open''. And that intimacy will come, first from freindship, then a bit of courting, and then a bit of intimacy, and then, probably you'd be comfortable to tell her..hey..u know what..i have something to tell you, and dont misunderstand me..or ..anything....
How can you ask how to joke with a girl whom you ahve just started dating ?? Its obviously obvious that you wont chase away girls by being OPEN on the first date...take it easy, take it cool...and your past is not what matters, what matters is your rapport...how you gel with her, make her laugh over silly things, give her a good time...soem romance...and obviously you wont blab about your past on the first date....being open (as in cracking any **** joke you like) and being honest is separate...being honest is telling her what you went through in the past..and yes, you have to be honest, but only at a time when you knwo she understands you, and you undertstand her very well...

if you are having sex with someone, then they need to know how many people you've slept with, and STDs you might have had, etc. that's the important thing. if you've changed, she would be able to tell. as for the joking, see what her personality is like. if she has a sense of humor, then joke with her. if not, keep the joking to a minimum.

You don't have to lay the cards on the table of your past* Your past is just that...THE PAST*
Be yourself..and if your new g/friend doesn't like it..then she's not the one for you. No need to "change" who you are and try to be someone you're not, because eventually the real you comes out.

NEVER be to open/honest with any woman! As soon as you do the mystery is gone for them. All thats left is the ol-->"who's next" syndrome.If ya really want to keep her around dont tell her ya love her.... No BS

When the exact time to tell her if you so choose about all this "stuff" is when she reveals some of her "stuff" to you. Honestly. Don't rush it and if she doesn't share that type of info then you don't share yours with her either.
