Cats dont have to work for their food anymore, they are only here because we used them for vermin control, BAN the cat food at the supermarkets and get them to start working for their food again. I hate seeing these adverts on TV where the Lady has obvious OCD issues and is treating the Cat like a human baby, fussing over them with little tins of gourmet food. Damnit these cats eat better than homeless people, shame on you all.

First, I don't think the rat/mice population has much to do with cats being fed cat food. Many cats still like to kill rats and mice for the "sport" of it, not to eat them. Ever notice how outdoor cats will bring their owners a dead mouse they hunted down as a kind of gift or offering to the owner?

As for people spoiling their cats, that's their business. As long as you're a responsible pet owner and aren't harming your pets, you can do whatever you want. Don't get upset with people for simply being cat lovers. Those of us who spoil our pets are more likely to donate food and money to charities for our fellow humans as well. In my opinion, pet lovers seem to be caring, considerate people who do not like to see anyone or anything suffering.

Shame on YOU for making such assumptions about cat lovers!

It relies upon on the cat, no longer the breed. I even have 4 Siamese. Of the 4, 2 have an extremely severe prey tension - and no rodent (or chook) that has the misfortune to come back into our domicile leaves alive. one won't be able to be afflicted, and the fourth is frightened of the flaws. An athletic cat with a prey tension will instinctively understand what to do with a mouse - they do no longer must be "taught". the prospect of any cat killing a rat - relies upon on the dimensions of the rat. Feeding or no longer feeding the cat has no longer something to do with it - they're organic hunters, and could hunt whether nicely fed.
