Because of the stress and strain of sexuality thrown at them by the media and society. The looks, actions, demeanors women must use to be "attractive" are all about being "sexy." It is a vicious cycle because then men are brought up to that tier, then something else comes along and it's less "risque" because it is progressively getting worse, causing women to dress more immodestly to be "noticed." Sad, sad sad.... (this of course for MOST parts of the world.)

It's not that difficult. I feel my life is dignified. But then, I am around many people who respect women for who they are.
In other places, I think a large part of it is that women have sort of taken themselves down the wrong track, along with many minority groups. We've obtained equal rights, but now demand more---pretty much special rights. Women have made it so now we not are only allowed to work in the workplace and not in home, but that it's expected of us (unless we want derision from other women). That is why I think it is hard to live a dignified life. We should be concerned about the health and happiness of others more so than we are now. Then our lives will be more dignified, because we will be to some extent "angel mothers" and teachers (I'm not married, but I am still a teacher of many and am involved where I can be).

How do you mean? I think it may depend on your environment. Women who live in areas of the world where they are subject to rape and inequality would certainly have a difficult time living a dignified life. I think that most women in the world are not living with those horrible conditions, though.

I don't know if you refer to a women that you know but the women in my family and myself we live a dignified life. And I know many women that they do. If you are talking about women in general, for what we see in the media I agree with you. And you have a point also. I think that it is because the society has fall in a decadent phase, were they have lost contact with dignity.

In Islam, Qur'an really dignify women, even order Muslims to treat their wives nicely and kindly, to take a GOOD care of their mothers, not to insult or defame any woman as the one who does this will have a severe punishment.

Briefly, we Muslims dignify our wives, our mothers, our daughters.

Because the definition for dignity changes when you ask for freedom. Woman always wanted to prove that they can do a man's job. Well for that they gotta face the abrupt world as man does. A man has to face all the bashings in the office and but when a woman faces the same thing her dignity comes into play. Come on be fair. Wanna compete with man, face it like a man.

Woman and man are equally important for the human race. We don't need to nag about our duties as what we are...

:-)

Because the liberal movement took your respect as a woman away;you have the freedom now which is good but now because of all the looseness going on women get treated like crap now.I for one treat women as in the old days I respect them as did in the old days. The problem is this "independent" attitude which is ruining the fabric of the family.Husbands need their wife and wives need their husband;this independent stuff is killing the family.
