Hi, I'm just wondering, for example if I do the treadmill for 30 minutes and burn 400 calories-if I can burn the same amount going double that speed for only 15 minutes, which helps me lose weight faster? Is there a difference? Thanks a lot!

The length of your workout is totally dependent on what you are trying to achieve, but the general recommendation is between 20-30 minutes. If you are trying to lose weight/burn calories I wouldn't recommend just trying to double your speed, which would tend to burn through your carbohydrate stores rather than any existing fat you are trying to rid of. Fat metabolism takes longer to initiate, so more intense, shorter workouts may not be helping you in that area. If you are looking to burn weight I would recommend working out at about 65-70% of your max heart rate (estimate your max heart rate by subtracting your age from 220) for about 20-30 minutes.

In essence they will burn the same amount of calories. But because you where going twice the speed, your heart rate was faster and your metabolism and heart rate will stay higher longer after you have stopped working out. So I guess if your body can handle double time, by all means lol <3

yes there is you should do the longer one because you'll burn more becuase when you run fast sure you burn off more calories faster but when you tkae it slower the results stay.
