I never have, but I lost a dear friend to it. Suicide is very selfish. It puts a huge burden on those around you when you do it.

Seeing the effects of depression can often be hard; i didn't know my friend was depressed until three days before she died.

>Don't take anti-depressants; they lead to suicidal thoughts

>Be an understanding friend; let them know they can discuss anything with you.

>Don't ever say, "Man, your life really does suck!" that only makes it worse. Tell them that it could always be worse, and encourage them to look on the bright side.

>Pray and get all of your friends to do the same thing as listed above and make the person feel very loved.

I remember thinking about it at the age of 13. First time it crossed my mind. Tried it a few times since then. With through lots of medical doctors to find an answer to my depression and crazy things I did. Finally at the age of 30 I was diagnosed as bi-polar. Yep, that is what it is. For me anyway. Last time I tried was last Wednesday. It just happens. Not something that I really want to do. Depression is a big factor. Manic is a big factor. Though someone may have a behavior disorder, and they dont' know what to do with themselves, because they do not understand. Also, some medications can cause severe depression and suicidal thoughts. For example, my son in ADHD, (7 years old) he was on Ritalin and Concerta, that boy was so depressed, cried all the time, mentioned he wanted to die. I took him off, and the depresson stopped. He was unable to focus in school, so I was pretty muched forced to make the decsion to put him back on something for ADHD. So he is now on Focolin XR, is doing well on that (thank God). Anyway, suicide is a sign of depression or inner pain, that a person just wants to go away. It is not necessarily that they truely want to die. Because I know that I don't, I have alot to live for. But, there are times, the inner pain, or situation I am dealing with, is way too overwelming. And there I go, wanting to die just to stop the pain. But, I don't want to. Try and get your friend to a doctor. Sometimes the docs help, sometimes they don't. For me, I am still searching for the right medication. Been on many many of them. They either make your hair fall out, give you something called Brain Shivers, cause you to be extremely irritable, cause you to be extremely drowsy to where you cannot function, etc, etc, etc. But, I am still on the search for hte right one. Hope this helps!

I contemplated it plenty back when I was 16 and halfway tried once with 5 aspirin on an empty stomach. After that I was so scared of actually going through with anything that I didn't contemplate anymore. I still drew pictures of bloody knives and headstones with my name on them with my friends crying beside it....after awhile I got happy again and never revisited that dark dark time.

When people start talking about it, and giving away personal items, depressed, acting strange, dosen`t care to be involved in activities, such as if a person plays sports, then suddenly quits. The list can go on, use your human instincts, it`s better to be safe then sorry. PEACE!!!

I have never even thought about it. I am a cancer survivor that has undergone 18 surgeries to date and I have fought too hard to stay here. There is no way I would do anything to endanger that.

I have thought about it many times especially when I was younger....I had to come to a place that I was ok with myself and my surroundings....I have found that inner peace that only one can get through ones self.... I am not afraid anymore and I walk this journey day by day inch by inch and I have decided to like me I choose life, I choose to be happy and I choose peace...

Good luck to you my friend....
