I believe she was still mourning her son, and 6 months I am sure she never thought about it. Yes unfortunately parents and anyone need to update their wills whenever anything significant happens in their lives or the people in their wills lives.

I know I never gave all this business any thought. I'll live forever.......then the Terri Sheivo incident came up, my own parents died and now this with Anna Nicole......you are NEVER too young or too poor to get a living will and also some other will or estate planning to have your family or assets and wishes protected. Update them. I got divorced and had re-married. My parents didn't up-date the name change. No biggie in the grand scheme of things but a major headache for me when I was least able make wise decisions and not ready to deal with all the red tapes of life. It means more than you will ever know and it saves grief for your family members who are already hurting and overwhelmed. I am not wealthy...but what I learned from my parents death made it so I know that even the simple things aren't left for a court to decide and not left for my loved ones to fight and argue over. Please.....for them.....get wise counsel.....try and cover all bases and even then there's always something left because you can't imagine every outcome....but you can do your best. I update mine every 6 mos. Things constantly change. Some new aspect comes to mind. But the poster is so right on this......don't put this off. It is one of the most loving and responsible things you can do for the people you love.

Her daugher will get everything. Anna's will is under California law which means the closest living relative inherits. That is her daughter. I completely agree with you. Updating is so importnat at any age.
